Love the expression 'miffed'

Duchess of Cornwall takes over as patron of the National Theatre after being 'miffed' when the position was handed to Meghan Markle

Camilla, 74, was reportedly 'pretty miffed' after the Duchess of Sussex was handed the coveted position, a role which had belonged to the Queen for 45 years, in January 2019.

I'm so glad Camilla has now been granted the patron of the National Theatre.  Meaghan Markle was totally unsuited to the job. She only made one appearance during her time there.

I am annoyed about spending more money on William's family, he has had Kensington Palace done up for his family already.   Not to mention a big house in Sandrinham grounds.

I agree, lovely royal couple.

These cups and mugs and plates have never been my cup of tea so to speak, I often would find them in second hand shops in the uk when looking around for some little treasures.

Not so lovely jubbly! Memorabilia for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee has a royally embarrassing misprint... but maybe Del Boy will be able to flog it down the marketMemorabilia marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee has embarrassing misprint

A Chinese manufacturer produced the 10,800 tea cups, mugs and plates to mark the Queen's 70 year reign, but failed to notice the spelling error in the word Jubilee during production. Wholesale Clearance UK, which sells unwanted stock in bulk, stepped in and picked up the collection, which features a painted image of the Queen and the words 'To commemorate the Platinum Jubbly of Queen Elizabeth II'.

LOL, very funny to me ... they'll probably be more collectible than the correct ones.

The Queen has used her Platinum Jubilee message to the nation to back the Duchess of Cornwall as Queen Camilla, shaping the future of the monarchy on her historic milestone.

In the hugely significant intervention, she expressed her “sincere wish” that Camilla will be known as Queen Consort when the Prince of Wales becomes King.

As she reached her 70th year on the throne, Elizabeth II, in the twilight years of her reign, set out her hopes for her daughter-in-law, once a royal mistress and now certain to be called Queen and crowned at Charles’s side.

Elizabeth II, using the rarest of Jubilees to put her affairs in order on a public platform, also shared her succession support for her eldest son as monarch.

The Queen, 95, said in the written message: “I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.

“And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”

The Queen who acceded to the throne on February 6 1952 on the death of her father George VI, also renewed her lifelong pledge of duty, despite approaching her 96th birthday this year.

She also paid tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh for the sacrifices he made as consort, thanked her family for their support, and made reference to the Queen Mother’s role as a Queen Consort.

Camilla will take the role of consort when Charles becomes king.

The Queen wrote: “I am fortunate to have had the steadfast and loving support of my family. I was blessed that in Prince Philip I had a partner willing to carry out the role of consort and unselfishly make the sacrifices that go with it.

“It is a role I saw my own mother perform during my father’s reign.”

Camilla would technically have been Queen when Charles acceded to the throne, and only legislation would have prevented it.

Royal aides had previously insisted Camilla did not want to be queen and that she “intended” to be known instead as Princess Consort - the first in British history - instead.

The careful use of the verb “to intend” left this open to change in the future.

Any mention of “Princess Consort” was removed from Charles’s website during a revamp in 2018.

Former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said: “This is the most extraordinary message. The Queen is ensuring the transition, when it comes, to her son as king is as seamless and trouble free as possible.

“She’s future-proofing an institution she’s served for seventy years. And for Camilla, the journey from being the third person in a marriage to queen-in-waiting, is complete.”

It started at the Ritz: Prince Charles's 22-year campaign to win the public over to the 'non-negotiable' woman in his life

How Prince Charles's 22-year campaign to win the public over to Camilla started at the

How different it all was on that cold Thursday night outside The Ritz more than 20 years ago. It was Charles and Camilla's coming out, a fleeting but scrupulously choreographed appearance before the world's press. Charles's natural inclination had been to go public with Camilla at a royal event which, in his eyes, would have lent a certain dignity, but the Queen - yet to be won over by Mrs Parker Bowles - was having none of it. And so here they were, this middle-aged man and woman, in a dark side street in Mayfair at just before midnight. The couple had spent the evening at a 50th birthday party and as they stepped from the hotel on to the pavement - Charles sheepish, Camilla petrified - a blizzard of camera flashes froze them in time.

I love this photo too.

LOL I had a giggle at this one when I saw it before it looks like an ad for Jeans.

But it is nice to see them all grown up together there they have all matured so much.
