Princess Alexandra arrived in Brisbane on 18 August 1959 and the State Reception at the Cloudland Ballroom took place that night. She stayed in Brisbane until the 22 August when she began a tour of regional Queensland, returning to Brisbane on 4 September before departing for Sydney on 9 September.

As she prepares to turn 40 next weekend, the Duchess of Cambridge knows that by her next landmark birthday, she'll have become the Princess of Wales — a title that's lain dormant since the death of Diana, the mother-in-law she never met.
As with everything associated with the Royal Family, her apprenticeship as future queen has been slow. Too slow, say some. But, astutely alert to the royals' unflustered ways, Kate has refused to be rushed.
Of course, one of our monarchy's immutable strengths is its repudiation of the modern fad to bend to prevailing fashion.
All four of Prince Albert's children have posed together for the first in a picture shared by Jazmin Grimaldi. Jazmin, 29, the Prince's illegitimate daughter with Tamara Rotolo shared a year in review round-up showing several photos from through the year. It included a shot where she poses with her half-siblings on a bench. Dressed down in jeans and crop top, with her hair in pigtails, the California-based royal wraps her hair around half-brother Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, 18, Albert's son with flight attendant Nicole Coste.Also pictured are twins Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco and Princess Gabriella, 7, Albert's children with Princess Charlene.

I don't even like the new photos of her, they don't look natural to me.
Have to agree Axel, three "formal" portraits were released, taken by Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi in Kew Gardens. Obviously edited as you say. Not to be compared with natural shots taken by the Duchess herself or the media during the many events she attends.

I was just looking back at Diana, taken formally they are a bit stiff! One is great with the boys though.
But I prefer this one of her!
