In 1954 the new queen did the Australian tour of which I have the original plans for NSW (done on linen ) as it was my mother that did them.

How interesting, thanks PlanB.

The Duchess of Cambridge was officially welcomed to Denmark by Queen Margarethe II this morning as she embarked on the second day of her whirlwind two-day solo visit to Denmark to promote her work in early childhood development. Later today she will meet with Australian-born Crown Princess Mary, 49, and visit one of the royal's projects.

Kate later spent the morning at a Danish kindergarten forest school.

Full DM story.

Oh lovely photos thanks for putting them up RnR.

I cannot say I like the girls shoes much they will be very dangerous on the old timber floors, I hate to think what damage those heels will do.

I wonder if light duties means making your own tea and dusting :)

It is a crying shame she did not abdicate in favour of her Grandson a couple of years ago prior to loosing her husband.

Cheeky Prince George, eight, pokes his tongue out as he joins rugby patrons Prince William and Kate Middleton at England v Wales Six Nations match

Prince George, 8, joins rugby patrons Prince William and Kate Middleton at Six Nations tie

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were joined by their eldest son Prince George when attending England's Six Nations match against Wales this evening. The eight-year-old appeared in great spirits as he stood in the stands alongside his parents, dressed in a red and navy jacket, while his mother Kate, 40, oozed elegance in a houndstooth £449 Knightsbridge Coat from Holland Cooper, and his father Prince William, 39, appeared dapper in a red tie and black jumper combo. Today's match at Twickenham Stadium will be the first Kate has attended since becoming patron of Rugby Football Union (RFU) after she took over the role from her brother-in-law Prince Harry, who used to enjoy cheering on England before he was forced to give up the patronage as part of the Megxit agreement. Prince William, who has been patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) since 2016, and Kate are known for their rivalry during sporting engagements, with the duchess, who grew up watching rugby with her family, having gamely taken on her husband in everything from dragon boating to wind buggy racing. Their appearance comes after they today tweeted their support for Ukraine in a rare political comment - insisting they 'stand' with the people of the war-torn nation, who 'bravely fight' for their future.

Charles condemns Putin's 'attack on democracy': Prince of Wales says he stands 'in solidarity with those 'resisting brutal aggression' in Ukraine as he grants Southend city status following death of Sir David Amess Prince Charles will grant Southend city status TODAY following death of MP Sir David

The Prince of Wales (pictured right) will formally present the legal document which entitles the change of status, the Letters Patent, to Southend's mayor, Margaret Borton, at a council meeting on Tuesday (Pictured main: Workers put up a sign reading 'Welcome to the City of Southend-on-Sea' ahead of royal visit). Charles will present the documents on behalf of the Queen and will be joined by his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall. Sir David (pictured inset right), who had served as Conservative MP for Southend West since 1997, was killed during a constituency surgery at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, on October 15. The 69-year-old had campaigned tirelessly to make Southend (pictured inset left) a city. Mayor Mrs Borton said on Tuesday: 'Formally receiving city status from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales will be a special moment for Southend-on-Sea, and we are hugely honoured to receive a royal visit from Their Royal Highnesses on what is sure to be a momentous day for our new city.'

When Charles offered to walk her down the aisle, Meghan replied: Can we meet halfway? New biography of the Queen by ROBERT HARDMAN exposes the secrets behind Megxit - including how Her Majesty knew Harry was gone for good because he took the dogs'ROBERT HARDMAN: When Charles offered to walk her down aisle, Meghan asked if they could

ROBERT HARDMAN: Even for a Nobel Prize-winning leader of the free world, this had been one of the great nights of his life. Back in his suite at Buckingham Palace, Barack Obama simply wanted to savour the moment. He had just been honoured with a state banquet given by Queen Elizabeth II. It wasn't the Midas-like display of George IV's gold and silver tableware collection or the quality of the delicious Échézeaux Grand Cru 1990 Romanée-Conti which had made this such an exceptional occasion. It was the rapport he had formed with a host who could talk with such authority about so many of his predecessors. Obama had been enjoying himself so much that the Queen had eventually taken the Chancellor of the Exchequer to one side to ask if he might, very discreetly, let the U.S. President know that it was bedtime. 'I just said: "Yes, Ma'am",' George Osborne recalls. 'I could see Obama with a drink in hand, and I was thinking: What do I do? I couldn't just interrupt and say: "Oh, the Queen wants you to go to bed".' Fortunately, he was saved by the Queen's private secretary, who gently nudged proceedings to a close. Still buzzing, the President summoned his two closest aides, including senior speechwriter Ben Rhodes, for a modest after-party in the Belgian Suite, where the Queen accommodates her state visitors.

Queen Elizabeth has hosted her first in-person event since catching COVID-19, meeting with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Windsor Castle.

The monarch, 95, didn't use her walking stick for the engagement inside the Oak Room and appeared in fine form, smiling throughout.

Her Majesty made a show of support to the people of Ukraine with a large display of blue and yellow flowers featuring prominently on the table between the pair.

Trudeau said the Queen was "insightful" as ever when he met her on Monday, adding that she was very interested in what was going on with regard to Russia.

"I can tell you in my conversation with her this morning she was as insightful and perspicacious as ever, very interested in what's going on," he told a news conference in London.

"I was able to talk about the situations we are facing and draw on her long experience from having seen so much over these past decades."

Last week it emerged the Queen had made a "generous donation" to support people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.

Members of her family — lead by Prince Charles — have spoken publicly in condemnation of the war in recent weeks.

"I must say my wife and I have been deeply moved by everything we have heard today during our visit and above all by the extraordinary bravery, generosity and fortitude of the Ukrainian community in the face of such truly terrible aggression," the Prince of Wales said during a visit to the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London last week.

Great to see the Queen up on her feet again.

What is the Queen really like? Forget what you see on The Crown - Her Majesty genuinely enjoys being the monarch, writes ROBERT HARDMAN, as he reveals new clues about the most famous woman in the world ROBERT HARDMAN: When the Queen first met George W. Bush, she poked fun at his 'gaudy'

ROBERT HARDMAN: The Queen's temperament, calmness in crisis and sense of humour have helped her endure for so many decades in her role as head of state. Megxit, the implosion of Prince Andrew, even the death of Prince Philip have failed to stop the Queen carrying on much as she has always done - because she genuinely enjoys her role and has the correct disposition for it. Among those who have worked with (or for) her, it is the Queen's quiet but steely determination which stands out. 'She has a duty to something greater than herself. It's timeless,' says former U.S. president George W. Bush, who revealed that Her Majesty once asked 'Are you the black sheep [of the family]' at a lunch when his father was in the White House in 1991.

Bet that was fun for her!

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway shares first snap of children with her partner Shaman

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway shared the image to her Instagram page yesterday, with Durek posing with the royal and her three children, Maud Angelica, 18, Leah Isadora, 16, and Emma Tallulah, 13 (left). The Shaman was quick to share a gushing comment on the post, writing: 'I love our family.' (inset). Mmmm ... "interesting" people.

On 24 May 2002, Ari Behn married Princess Märtha Louise, the eldest child of King Harald V of Norway. On 5 August 2016, the Royal Court announced that Princess Märtha Louise and Behn had started divorce proceedings and intended to share custody of their three daughters. They were divorced in 2017. At the time of his death  on Christmas Day 2019 Behn was in a relationship with lawyer Ebba Rysst Heilman.

Märtha Louise is a self-described clairvoyant who led her own alternative therapy centre named Astarte Education/Soulspring, commonly known in Norway as the "angel school", which provided training in communication with angels and communication with the dead.

In May 2019, the princess announced that she was in a relationship with an American citizen, a self-styled shaman named Durek Verrett. He has faced strong criticism in Norway and been characterised by Norwegian media and other critics as a conman.
