Firstly, he failed to fill out forms correctly which in turn created a bi-election, Hundreds of thousands of dollars wasted because of his inabillity to understand section 44. He has never appolagized for that.
Secondly, he has never thanked the Australian people for paying his legal bill which would have run into the thousands.
Thirdly, He impregnates a young staffer who is young enough to be his dauhter. Who had only been married for six months prior to him having sex with.

Provided Joyce can explain any personal expense claims, he has nothing to answer. The government and opposition have much more important issues to debate for all our benefits. We are being urged by some to give Barnaby some privacy because his private life is a private affair and while I agree with that to some extent it's becoming tiresome. It's a pity that those people don't seem to give the same consideration to a whole lot of others.
Let's see just in this thread which is after all supposed to be about Barnaby Joyce and his exploits, there have been comments about the private lives of Tanya Pilberseck, Bill Shorten, Tony Burke and no doubt others I have forgotten. I think Julia Gillard even got a mention (not that that surprises me).
Notice the pattern emerging here. One of these things is not like the others one of these things is not the same.

I could not care less about Barnaby Joyce and what he gets up to; it is just the hypocrisy of others that annoys me.
Exactly what I was thinking Leonie. The first instinct of Lib/Nat diehards is to demonise Labor for their own Party’s failings. It has become a joke and is particularly silly in this instance.
I wish people would leave Barnaby Joyce alone. It's very sad, his marriage had failed and "in time" love came calling back. Nobody has even mention Bill Shorten when he ended his marriage to marry the Governor General at the time Ms Quentin Brice's daughter - NOT a sound and what about Tony Burke? - also NOT a sound. There is probably a dozen more in the same boat - again NOT a sound.
I do believe Barnaby is a good man and does a great job in his portfolio so I wish we could all give him some breathing space as he is definitely not alone with this marriage break up

As far as I am concerned it is just playing politics....so many of them have done the same thing or similar and probably some are right now...just not been caught.
Whether Labor/Liberal or whatever...It is not going to surprise me if this unleashes a torrent of affairs that have been flying under the radar.

The Labor party have now attacked Barnaby twice in six months to divert attention from their own hypocrisy
If he were just a backbencher this situation would be a minor embarrassment to the government, but he is the DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER. He represents Australia. It's a major embarrassment - he should step down.

I will watch Question Time this week with interest; in particular Tony Burke. Most interesting to see if he attacks Barnaby Joyce himself.
