Suze  he was born in Tamworth to 5Th Generation on his mother’s side .

His Father was born in NZ came to Australia to attend Univercity and stayed . 

At the time his father came to Austrlia there was no Australian Cotizenship we were all British . 

The retrospectve law that NZ introduced said that all children of FATHERS 

born after they introduced the act were entitled to NZ citizenship.

So we have the case where foreign governments can determin who is illegible to sit in our Parliment .

Secondly if it had been his mother that was NZ it wouldn’t apply 

Thirdly this would not be the case in NZ itself ..

Barnaby has been hammered quite a bit and rightly so.

I don't often give sermons, but what about the lady in question eh?  What's she doing messing with  someone's marriage?  Not  to  mention birth  control? Is she that  stupid  or is she opportunistic?

It IS relevant to the topic as far as I'm concerned.

Labor do hypocrisy so well, and the media play right into their hands.  

And yes Pliberseks' hubby.   How  many others would be able to get high paying jobs .....AND in the public service at that....with a criminal conviction on their record.   

We're now five pages in so I can't remember for sure but I think the original poster made the point that it is the provision of a high paying job to the mistress that is the crutch of the matter, all else falls into speculation.

Yes, other politicians have had affairs, and on both sides of politics.  

It's too easy to choose our side and make allowances for them that don't apply to the other side, so I'll try not to do that.  I just want to make this point. Two people who are involved while married to other people may not be cheating in the strictest sense.

No fault divorces mean people have to live apart for 12 months, or at least they used to, maybe that's changed and if so I'm sure someone will tell me.  But it's quite conceivable that two people could meet, become involved and even for one of them to become pregnant in that time period.

Now I'm not suggesting that is what has happened here, or anywhere else for that matter, all I'm saying is that it is easy to point to any particular twosome and say they are having sex while married to other people and that would be perfectly true, but the reality of the relationships might be a little different.  I'm certainly not making excuses for Barnaby.  Personally, I'm still having trouble getting my head around the fact that at least two women apparently have slept with him, no accounting for taste.

I'll finish by once again saying that the crutch of the matter in this instance is the provision of a high paying job that, as I understand it, never existed before and hasn't been filled again now that the woman concerned has left it.

By the way, I'm one who quite liked Barnaby, but since he became Deputy I thought frankly he's not really up to the job.   That may seem irrelelevant to the topic, but my feeling was he hasn't got quite the intellect needed.   The way he's mishandled this issue is proof in my opinion.

I agree with your assessment BTW, although I can't say I have ever particularly liked him.  Having said that, I think he must be a likeable sort of fellow to be so well received in his own electorate, where I'm sure the rumours would have been pretty well known.  

It's often the case that people we only see on TV are perceived differently in real life.

No one can really judge another.

As long as a politician is true to the Australian people, this is all that matters.

I was wondering how the tax-payer would be financing  his sex life.  If he were setting his mistress up in an expensive appartment, etc. ... yes, that undoubtedly would be financed by the tax-payer, however, I don't know what the personal arrangements were.

To call this "love"  I think is making assumptions.   More likely to be what van der Velde calls "weak and irrisistible desire."  The stuff of most affairs.

It is not just whats happening in BJ's marriage,  it is how he lies and rips off us as well he has NO morals at all and it has been caught out lying about the water --also lying about the Adani and the amount of jobs same as the QLG Premier -- he is NOT a suitable person for the position he holds and Turnbull should do something about him --

Barnaby parked "Litle Barney"in a 5 minute loading zone, he overstayed and had to pay a penalty.  He made the mistake and he has to pay for that mistake, not us.

All this nonsense about him being entitled to a private life is just a load of rubbish being used by the rabid right to try and misdirect the comments.

We now see the political partys concerned start to talk about how no rules have been broken, the standard response from someone or an entity trying to dodge an ETHICS issue.

I find it very sad that some forum members are so loyal to their political party, they refuse to acknowledge that one of their number has done the wrong thing, his true character has been revealed and as a result, respect for him is now zero.  It will be interesting to see how Malcoln handles this dire situation now unravelling in Canberra.  

This is a concocted crisis to divert attention away from the fact that the Adani mine is tearing Labor apart.
