Coronavirus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans': Top vaccine scientist says it could only have come from an animal through a 'freak of nature' - and the possibility it leaked from Wuhan lab MUST be investigated

Scientists have produced evidence that the pandemic virus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans', raising fresh questions over whether its origins were natural or could have occurred in a laboratory.

Devastated family and friends have reacted with shock to the death of a 23-year-old man who had COVID-19, remembering him as a talented science graduate and sportsman.

James Kondilios, who was double vaccinated and had no significant underlying health conditions, died at St Vincent’s Hospital this week.

The ACT resident attended high school at Sydney’s Waverley College and later completed an advanced science degree at the Australian National University in Canberra.

In 2019, Mr Kondilios won a federal government science innovation award for his work on which genetic variants of eucalyptus should be planted in preparation for climate change.

He was also a talented athlete, representing Australia at the 2015 classic powerlifting world championships in Finland, at which he won a bronze medal.

Mr Kondilios was one of six COVID-19 deaths reported by NSW Health on Thursday. The others were of four men and one woman, aged in their 60s, 80s and 90s.

Very sad end to such a successful life.

Why are we not told what was he double vaccinated with ???

Was it Pfizer or Astra Zenica or Moderna ???

How long was it since he had the second jab ??

and what Variant of Covid did he die from ???

ACT: 1,305 new cases, 4,417 tests, 4,941 active cases, 24 in hospital, 5 in ICU.

WA: 8 new cases (1 local), 4,860 tests, 86 active cases, 0 in hospital, 0 in ICU.
NT: 594 new cases, 3,030 tests, 1181 active cases, 17 in hospital, 1 in ICU.

ADDITIONAL
• Victoria's high numbers today due to the inclusion of RAT tests now, including 20,320 taken earlier in week. Of the cases reported today, 26,428 were detected from rapid tests and 24,928 were detected from PCR tests. Health Minister Foley says many of those who returned a positive rapid antigen test are likely to have also undertaken a PCR test, "so there will be a degree of doubling".
• Queensland suspending non-urgent elective surgery until March 1. The state's deaths are two men in their 30s. The most common cause of the sudden deaths in young people relate to infection by the virus of the heart, myocarditis, and that's the probable cause in both of these individuals.

• South Australian Premier Steven Marshall is isolating after his daughter tests positive. Mr Marshall had dinner with his daughter on Thursday and is now considered a close contact.

RnR is there anything about the testing of this virus and the reliability of the testing?

An old friends daughter was tested positive in Queensland, but lives with the family who tested negative.

She is a GP.  A mystery.  Later a few days in isolation she is tested negative!

Then another friends has a member of the family go through the same thing in another state, but a few days later they are tested negative.

Have no idea Celia ... why ask me.

All I know is that media reports say PCR tests are more accurate than RAT tests.

Living up here, have to agree Suze.

Also, there are waiting lists for vaccine boosters right now, let alone when kids aged 5 to 11 are allowed jabs from from 10 January 2022. Was in my little local chemist today, phone was running hot with people seeking jabs.

REVEALED: Canadian military officer calls for a probe into a ground zero 'Covid' outbreak at Wuhan forces games TWO MONTHS before world was alerted to the 'mysterious new illness'

Canadian military officer calls for a probe into a ground zero 'Covid' outbreak at Wuhan

The long-serving officer was among the scores of athletes who fell sick with a debilitating illness after attending the World Military Games in Wuhan in October 2019. He said foreign competitors found the city of 11 million people 'like a ghost town', and so many cases of a mysterious virus afflicted the Canadian team that a quarantine section was set up on their military flight back home. The officer, who is still suffering from the effects of his illness despite previous high levels of fitness, said a military-appointed doctor later said he almost certainly caught Covid. Western Australia has reintroduced a mask mandate for all indoor public areas in Perth and Peel after Premier Mark McGowan revealed three new COVID-19 cases had been recorded in addition to the two earlier-announced cases. Masks will be required from 6pm in all indoor public places in Perth and the Peel region.

Two of the three cases are linked to the U Natural Spa Therapy business in Applecross, a previously announced-exposure site. Earlier on Sunday, another two local cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of new cases to five since yesterday. Currently, there are 81 known active cases of Omicron in WA.
