Coronavirus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans': Top vaccine scientist says it could only have come from an animal through a 'freak of nature' - and the possibility it leaked from Wuhan lab MUST be investigated

Scientists have produced evidence that the pandemic virus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans', raising fresh questions over whether its origins were natural or could have occurred in a laboratory.

Nurse wakes from 28-day Covid coma after medics give her VIAGRA: Asthmatic double-jabbed mother-of-two was just three days from having ventilator turned offNurse wakes from 28-day Covid coma after medics give her VIAGRA

Monica Almeida, 37, from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, was given the erectile dysfunction drug by her colleagues at Lincoln County Hospital. The drug enables greater blood flow to all areas of the body and caused her condition to improve in just a week. The specialist respiratory nurse, who works for NHS Lincolnshire and was born in Portugal, first tested positive for the virus in October. As her condition deteriorated she was taken to the ICU where she was placed in a medical coma on the 16 November. She emerged from her coma in time for Christmas on the 14 December and was allowed to return to her family on Christmas Eve. She is now urging people to get the vaccine.

RnR,

Thank you so much for the daily breakdown of Covid cases.  This really is appreciated and  I am sure it takes a considerable amount of time and work to do this.

I am sure I am not alone with my recognition of your generosity. Thank you again.

Thanks Axel, very much appreciated.

Has anyone had their Third Jab?

We are trying to work out when our third one is due.

On the news just now here in WA it looks if the Premier wants proof of double Jabs on everyone phones

they have already stopped people entering certain places here without their double Jabs, thank goodness.

Hi Celia - I had my booster shot yesterday. All good and no reaction so far.  I had my last Astra Zeneca in August and my Doctor said I could have the booster yesterday.

Good for you Hola, my last Pfizer was at the beginning of October so I have to sit and wait, Hubby had his earlier and is due now.  But they are now talking of Boosters sooner than that so I shall have to make inquiries about mine.

My son had his booster about a month ago and he seems ok in Sydney I hope that continues as I have not heard from him in a few days now.

I've had my second Maderna jab at the end of October

So with the new changes to 4 months, I should get my next jab at the end of this month.

Trying to read all the info whether to get Pfizer as a booster or carry on with the Moderna ?

Hola which booster did you get ?? AZ or Pfizer ???

Due for my booster on January 22 and will get Pfizer if I can get hold of it in the current chaos.

Suze - The nurse looked up on her computer and said I could have the Astra Zeneca as my booster shot.

No swelling or pain at the location.

RnR I think the only Booster available is the Pfizer and I have had the first two, I am due on 14 February unless they make it 3 months instead of the four months.

Sweden's fully-vaccinated king and queen test positive for Covid as the country sees record number of cases driven by Omicron variant

The palace today said in a statement that King Carl XVI Gustaf, 75, who is the Queen Elizabeth's third cousin, and Queen Silvia, 78, have tested positive for Covid. It comes amid rising cases in Sweden.

• Testing chaos continues around the country.

I had my booster yesterday.  My choices were Moderna or Pfizer.  I chose Moderna, not for any particular reason, just because I had to choose one.  I don't feel all that flash today.  My arm is really sore, and I am suffering mild flu symptoms.  I've taken a couple of Panadol and am starting to feel a little bit better now.

An online check for the side effects was enlightening.  Probably should have done that before I was jabbed.

Common side effects after the Moderna vaccine include:

pain at the injection site. - check

tiredness.  - check

headache. - check

muscle pain. - check

fever and chills. - check

Hi Leonie!

I do hope you feel better soon, my son in Sydney had side affects for the first two Jabs with Pfizer and not the booster.  He too Panadol.

I was told I would have the side affects you have experienced and I only had a sore arm, but I am always hurting myself in the garden so I just took a Panadol.  My elder son with the AstraZ had swollen arms and angles but he had his second Jab with Pfizer and was fine.

I guess we are all experiencing these things differently.

Hope you are feeling great soon.

Hope you recover ASAP Leonie.

Leonie

I had no side effects from either of the 2 jabs of Moderna

- did not even feel the needle go in.

Thanks ladies, all good, symptoms only lasted for around 24 hours.

MISCELLANEOUS
• The actual numbers of new and active cases very hard to ascertain in Australia now, due to people giving up on PCR testing queues, lagging test results processing and no national guidelines on reporting positive RAT results with many/most going unrecorded.
• NSW Health has announced that a man in his 20s from the ACT has died from COVID. The man, who was being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, had received two doses of a vaccine and had no known underlying health conditions.

Case numbers soaring in almost every state now.

NSW has suspended elective surgery and banned singing and dancing in hospitality venues until January 27, and while major events will continue they are being reviewed by NSW Health. Premier Dominic Perrottet also announced a new round of mandatory vaccinations for key industries, making boosters compulsory for teachers, nurses, and frontline healthcare workers. The changes come into effect on Saturday January 7.

ADDITIONAL

• 20 to 39 year olds made up almost half of NSW cases last week.
• Queensland may delay the return of some school students on 24 January over COVID fears.

Interesting the stats show NSW doubles the number of Covid deaths to Victoria which for a long time was the other way about.

Like many in Australia - we are fed up to the back teeth with the Covid BS and its rules. Came across this and it is so well put, I thought I would share it here.

Stop it. Just stop it. Stop making excuses.

We’ve gone from “a few weeks to flatten the curve” to fully vaccinated to see a doctor.

We’ve gone from “two vaccines to be fully vaccinated” to three, possibly four, five, six…

We’ve gone from “when we reach 70%, life will go back to normal” to 80%, 90%, 95%…

We’ve gone from “the vaccine is 100% effective” to not preventing infection, barely curbing transmission, and dwindling effectiveness against symptoms in less than 6 months.

We’ve gone from “the vaccine is 100% safe” to risks of blood clots, Guillain-Barre, myocarditis, pericarditis, and skyrocketing reports of adverse reactions on yellow card systems across the globe.

We’ve gone from “masks are relatively ineffective” to wearing masks when there is no active disease in the local community.

We’ve gone from “kids are unaffected by this disease” to promoting vaccines for 5-12 year olds.

We’ve gone from “vaccinate to get back to normal” to vaccine passports will be required to access normal necessities.

And here’s a few more “Stop-It’s” while I’m on my rant…

Stop telling me, “the vaccine is not experimental” when it is still in an experimental trial stage. Long term data is not in on mRNA vaccines for humans and no amount of data fudging and spin can prove otherwise.

Stop telling me, “we don’t have polio anymore, thanks vaccines” when mRNA vaccines are nothing like the polio vaccine, coronaviruses are nothing like poliovirus, and the first release of the polio vaccine resulted in a catastrophic pharmaceutical disaster.

Stop telling me, “but it still reduces the spread” when affected states and countries are at 90% levels of vaccination and returning record numbers of break-through cases. This is hardly a ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated’.

Stop telling me, “well, it’s about reducing the load on our health system” when they can afford to sideline thousands of healthcare workers, once celebrated for their heroic service on the frontline.

Stop telling me, “yeah, but we weren’t expecting this highly infectious new variant” when any virologist worth their salt will tell you this is exactly what viruses do. In general, they become more infectious and less dangerous over time.

Stop telling me, “it’s about keeping us safe” when they suppress known successful treatments, threaten and harass doctors who speak out, censor dissenting scientific voices, and seemingly couldn’t give a toss about suicide, mental health, smoking, and drug and alcohol addictions which kill tens of thousands of Australians each year.

Stop telling me, “people still have a choice” when you know full well there is no choice when somebody’s livelihood, healthcare and welfare are at stake.

And finally, stop telling me, “it’s a conspiracy theory” when it’s all happening right there in front of you.

There is a virus. Yes. It’s a bad one. Precautions need to be taken. But, this response is a total overreach and most people know it. They may not express it. They may not acknowledge it. They may even argue against it. But, surely they can feel it. Something’s not right.

This is no longer about a virus. This is about passports, power and control. I don’t know where it’s coming from. I don’t know how it got here. But, it’s here. It’s global. It’s terrifying. And we must push back. We must.

Stop making excuses.

Stop it. Just stop it. Stop making excuses.

• Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg tests positive for COVID-19.
• A Czech tennis player's visa has been cancelled by Australian Border Force. She is being detained in the same immigration hotel as Novak Djokovic.

The Age reported that veteran Czech player Renata Voracova was granted an exemption that allowed her to enter Australia without being vaccinated, on the basis that she had previously been infected with COVID-19 within the past six months.

This is the same exemption granted to men’s world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who was refused entry on Wednesday night and is currently being held in immigration detention.

Unlike Djokovic, Voracova has been in the country since December and has already played in a warm-up tournament.

The Federal Government sent advice to Tennis Australia in November stressing that a prior infection in the past six months did not meet the requirements for quarantine-free entry.

I feel that Tennis Australia has a lot to answer for.

It must be a great shock for the wealthy Djokovic to be staying in the same immigration hotel as all of the other detainees. Hey, Novak, you've only been there for 2 days, spare a thought for some of the other detainees who have spent months or even longer there.
