What is wrong with these idiots that are running the country, Morrison and Perrottet? Neither have the guts to stand up and tell people that they should mask up and keep away from crowded situations. Perrottet said, "His decision on easing restrictions is about "treating people as adults". Give me a break. What is the use of listening to Health Doctors and then making their own decisions on what's okay for the general public.? All I can say is, they better watch out at Election time to see what the people think of them?

Agree Hola.

Unfortunatelly Parot is there to stay until 2023 when the next election is.

Looks like it's look after yourself from now on ...

I cannot understand Why Australia is working on some OLD PLAN when the variant is changed and they do not have enough information about it.

Neither can I Suze ... seems like we've dropped the ball with the great "opening up" and restrictions that have been eased ... resulting in surging case numbers across the country, with the exception of WA where the Premier has remained firm.

At least some good news.

Mmmm ... big backflip in NSW.

Not before time IMO.

I was at the shops early this morning 8.30am. Some of the shops didn't have a QR code check in. I was looking for it at the Chinese Shop but never spotted it. People were crowding on the escalators' and some didn't seem to bother wearing a mask, I couldn't get out of the place fast enough. My update of my dear friend in ICU - he now has been taken off a ventilator and put in a tracheotomy, lungs still in need of a LOT of support. His wife now has been taken to another hospital with breathing difficulties, and I've just been told a nephew who was coming to our Christmas luncheon has been found positive for CoVid and must stay home until cleared. I think we should have just canceled  Christmas.

So sorry to read that Hola ... thinking of you, stay safe and my best wishes for tomorrow.

RnR - Thank you for your wishes. I too hope you and family have a safe time tomorrow.

I heard on the radio the other day that they were considering charging patients that were not  vaccinated, into ICU.  But they said the charges were $4,000.00 per day?  I doubt if these patients could ever repay the money if they did survive.

Hola

It is to my understanding that this already happens in Singapore. They say unvaccinated people disproportionately contribute to the strain on Singapore's health care system because they represent the majority of patients who need intensive care for COVID-19.

Children who are below 12 and those who are medically unable to receive vaccines will still have their bills covered by Singapore authorities.

One of Sydney’s largest hospitals has admitted to mistakenly telling more than 400 people they had tested negative to COVID-19 when, in fact, they had all tested positive to coronavirus.

SydPath, the facility that operates pathology services at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, released a statement on Sunday acknowledging the “human error”.

A new record daily case count of 6394 was reported on Sunday, from reduced testing numbers on Christmas Day.

There were 109,545 tests, a drop of around 40,000.

I imagine that if hospitals are overwhelmed with Covid infections, they will bring in triage.

Axel

I've read that NSW have some 2000 Health workers in covid quarantine.
