Useful to know in case one ever wants to visit .... UK sure seems to have better roads to what we have.
Those road are cobbles for the horses to grip on..........but yes the motorways are better designed than here.
A lot of money was being spent on cobblers to fix horse shoes in those days.
Public pressure finally convinced Queen Victoria to order all roads be paved with cobblestone.
i understand the peasants march across the country demanding these changes.
Much like what's happening in Oz today really.
The cobblestones would sure slow down the bicycle riders and the councils painting them with bicycle tracks.
