Where did the Coronavirus 19 originate from? and anything relative to the virus.

Coronavirus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans': Top vaccine scientist says it could only have come from an animal through a 'freak of nature' - and the possibility it leaked from Wuhan lab MUST be investigated

Scientists have produced evidence that the pandemic virus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans', raising fresh questions over whether its origins were natural or could have occurred in a laboratory.

... heard some Scientist "bod" say on the News that a vaccine is approx. 12 months away and if that is the case it is possible 2/3rds. of the World population will have some form of it (either serious or mild) .....unbelievable!?

Not at all, don't believe the fear mongering, just protect yourself with lots of fresh fruit and veggies, olive leaf extract and numerous other things that boost your immune system. If you do catch it then you will only have a mild case just like a cold. Stop stressing, stress lowers your immune system too.

Stressing???  Me???  Strange you would think that?  I am purely "quoting" what I heard on the News - ok?

You are simply assuming - and wrong! I happen to be one of the healthiest people on this planet! My immune system is 110% and does not need "boosting" as I haven't been sick in over 40 years! Oh and I don't take all the whacky stuff you seem to ingest. :)

@musicveg

Thanks for sharing your valuable opinion as to how to keep a healthy immune system ..... which after all is shown by the health experts that people with low immune system is the main cause of deaths from this virus.

Wow ! Foxy

How about  posting me some of your excess  immunity system :)

But please do not send it by Australia Post as the virus season will be over before it would get to me :)

... Auspost are getting better by the day - lol

.. if people wish to follow "natural remedies" good luck to them!  However I'm a believer it's in the "genes".

I'm hoping I will still be alive when the scientists can give people a "use by date" from your DNA/genes!  They are getting closer by the day!  Now that will be interesting!

i.e.  ...... "here is your "use by date" Foxy - you are expected to die on 00/00/0000"  How cool would that be?  No one would waste a minute of their life!  :)

N.B.  Note I did not put any dates in - don't wanna' predict my own death! lololol

Foxy, what wacky stuff are you assuming I ingest? I just eat real food, I do not need supplements. I only mentioned it to help those who are worried about their immune systems not being able to cope. I never suggested you were not healthy, my comments are for everyone who is interested, if you are not then just ignore.

Suze thanks for your support for my comment, you get what I was saying, and of course it is my opinion only and not meant to be medical advice (have to put in the disclaimer these days).

Image result for Norwegian Jewel Cruise ship\  Norwegian Jewel cruise ship in Sydney harbour is in lockdown due to one man who is being tested for the COVID-19.

The Australian has reported that NSW Health is testing a Singaporean man on board The Norwegian Jewel.

The ship - which has a 2,376 guest capacity - has temporarily been placed into lockdown.

Lets hope the tests prove negative

Heard on the news that the peson in question was suffering from bronchitis

Yes it is hard to discern what to believe and what not

Nice looking ship, so many of them just look like floating high rise buildings these days, don't even have a pointy bit - as I like to say.  :)

DH is ex-merchant navy and belongs to a forum of guys of similar age.  They all reckon they don't know how today's ships don't roll over in high seas.  LOL  They do look top-heavy, don't they?  Not this one though.

As for the virus, I'm another who thinks nothing we do to protect ourselves diet-wise, or alternative medicine wise, will make much difference. Like NY19 says it comes down to the luck of the draw on how our immune system will handle it if any of us are unlucky enough to contract it.

These ships are fast becoming the "virus incubators" of the World!

When I first heard of the "Diamond Princess" I said on here (days ago) it was of my opinion that the Japanese Govt. should have got everyone OFF the ship pronto to hopefully eliminate what now has happened!!

Every day there are more and more cases ...it will get to the stage there will be no one left on it anyway!

It's appalling that these people are still on this ship!

Also to "disinfect" a ship of that size when it is vacated? How difficult would that be?

"These ships are fast becoming the "virus incubators" of the World!"

Yep, wouldn't get me near one with a ten-foot pole.

It is hard not to stress a bit when you read, as I did this morning, that WHO is predicting two thirds of the world population will be afflicted by this virus. I do feel a bit worried for my children, their partners and my grandchildren. Also for my hubby and I but mainly for the younger ones because I have been coming to terms with death approaching for him and I within 20 years and there is no knowing if it will be sooner or later anyway.

This virus loves to attack lung cells. When it gets into a cell it replicates until it bursts open and destroys the cell releasing more virus to enter other lung cells etc. Eventually so many cells in the lung are destroyed that the person becomes depleted of oxygen which causes organs to fail. The kidneys tend to fail first. Because viruses are non living things we have no medicine to destroy them so are wholly reliant on our immune systems to do that for us. Personally I think that regardless of what we eat or do to protect ourselves most of us will not know how our own particular immune system will respond to this virus until we contract it. Will be luck of the draw....

Hi Ny19!

Yes it is a bit frightening, some people seem to have survived this battle, there seems to be more that have  had the virus and lived through it than have not looking at the numbers.  My main worry now is my husband that has just been diagnosed with Leukemia, the treatment will make him very weak and susceptable to infections.   I guess we will just have to plod along.

https://time.com/5782284/who-name-coronavirus-covid-19/

Sorry to hear that Celia and wish your hubby all the best. Can well understand how the existence of Covid 19 would add an extra layer of worry for all of those undergoing chemo/radiotherapy and their loved ones. Hopefully the WHO prediction will be wrong and the virus will die out before too long like SARS and MERS.

Thank you Ny19.

Thank you Ny19.

It does matter what we eat Ny19, if you do not get the nutrients you need how are you going to be healthy enough to fight off any disease. It has been proven that people who eat lot's of fresh fruit and veggies are healthier. Of course your lifestyle choices and stress levels play a part too.

Oh Celia -- I am SO very sorry to hear that dreadful news about your Husband -- I know that you would be SO worried as when you have a weak immune system it is a REAL worry -- I am so very sorry to hear that

So sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis Celia. All my very best wishes to both of you. Take care.

An example of poor news reporting.

The 'frightening' coronavirus travel map shown on some news outlets ... is not about the virus at all ... it actually shows the pattern of global air traffic back in 2010.

Southampton population scientist Prof Andrew Tatem, the author of the coronavirus spread study, told Weekly Beast the map used on Australia's Sunrise TV program and other media came from a scientific paper he wrote in 2014 – but was not part of the latest study. It was used to illustrate the extent of global connectivity and mobility through air travel in 2010.

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2020/feb/14/sunrise-wuhan-travellers-coronoavirus-news-corp-miranda-devine

Don't think I'm panicking but like most do have concerns about Coronavirus, caused mainly by the nature of the illness in that it does seem fairly contagious with outcomes ranging from very mild to death - which sort of insists that all maintain some vigilance regarding its spread.

Also still struggling to believe stats actually coming out of China and sometimes get the impression the authorities actually have no idea.

Re:  The cruise ship off Japan ...Thinking  it's possibly time to get all passengers off this ship with different countries transferring passengers to their own specific quarantine areas, maybe limiting its spread in the process - really don't know to be honest!

Also wondering with every group of passengers diagnosed with Coronavirus on the cruise ship if the 14 day quarantine clock restarts - thinking if thats the case they'll be stuck on the ship until they get the virus and are carried off to some hospital in Japan.

Suggesting the only way to get off the ship is to get the virus.

Wondering if they are using anti viral medications to treat it and if that is helping? Was interested to see a guy state on some news channel that he recovered using anti-retroviral medications which are used for AIDS. I think retrovirus refers to animal viruses or viruses that have crossed the barrier between animals and humans (but happy to be corrected if I am wrong), so possibly anti-retroviral medication is a good antidote. They don't actually kill the virus (because viruses are not living things and can't be killed) but they break down the viral load which helps the immune system stay on top of the damage the virus can cause in the body and perhaps to get on top of it completely. Hence when people who once had AIDS commence anti-retroviral therapy they remain HIV positive (because they have not got rid of the virus) but healthy because the viral load is decreased so significantly it can't do any damage.

Hmmmm.....so the Chinese Govt. (according to tonights News) ...is "angry and disappointed" regarding Australia's decision to continue the flight ban to and from China....... well boo hoo - I for one don't care!

                                                            *     *     *     *

What I do care about however (also on the News tonight) is the "selling off" of more of Australia's precious commodities - this time WATER .....to the Chinese owned "Cherrabah Resort" - (thanks Qld. Govt.) - yet another Lease for 99 years!

Farmers and stock desperate up in that area and paying for water whilst this Chinese mob are using our water to bottle it and take/sell back to China!!  Are we freakin' nuts in this country?

.....  just stick another Chinese flag on the map of Oz. for that one also - map be covered soon!!!

(off topic)  sorry ........

I am sick of hearing how we are selling water to be bottled, humans survived for thousands of years without bottled water, i wish people would stop buying it and put a filter on their taps if they are worried about tap water.

I saw on the news businesses are complaining about not being able to restock after Christmas sales, like toys and even make-up, nothing we cannot live without. How dependant is Australia on Chinese imports?

Yes agree re your water comment!

Judging by reports in the Business Sect. of the paper ....we are almost "wholly dependant"!  There were companies listed the other day that were desperate for their goods:  Katmandu and Anaconda (camping franchises) - Rivers/Autograph (clothing)  - Yellow Octopus (Toys/Gaming etc. Melb.) and of course the big players Target  K-Mart  BigW ....the list goes on!

Article also mentioned that these companies were already sourcing out factories in India/Vietnam to start production of their stock requirements.  Imagine if you were a retailer and relied soley on China you could be in big trouble!

No one has a crystal ball but "Blind Freddy" can see the huge impact this virus will have on the world not only healthwise but the economy!

Only people making a "monza" outta' this virus will be Drs. and Funeral Parlours!  (tongue in cheek  :)

Big pharma is getting all the money Foxy. A lot of clothes do come from Bangladesh, India and Vietnam now, so those countries will do well out of it. I am starting to think maybe it was part of Trump's plan to bring China down.

There is much fear mongering going about this virus. The Chinese community are being unfairly targetd by Australians.Racism is rife. Show some support and attend Chinese retuarants.

I agree KB that fear mongering is getting out of hand, the media are just loving it, with fear you can control people. I feel sorry for the Chinese people, their Government is using the whole thing to control, manipulate and push their agenda.

Around 500 million people in China are currently affected by policies put in place restricting movement, to contain COVID-19.

That's more than the entire population of the United States and is equivalent to roughly 6.5 per cent of the world's population.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-15/coronavirus-lockdown-in-china-millions-put-into-quarantine/11968114

That's amazing, sure is working to control the people, I wonder if this is an experiment and they are using the virus as an excuse.

Interesting concept - however - haven't the Chinese Govt. controlled their citizens with "fear" all their lives?

They have yet to have a "millenial" uprising like Hong Kong?  BTW why has HK gone so quiet?  Do we really know?

The reason I mentioned the USA possibly being involved if you had read about the Bill Gates Event 201 agenda it is not hard to think this is all planned.

Yeah I was wondering about Hong Kong too, maybe the protestors have felt defeated because of the threat of being locked up or even disappearing, something which is happening in China all the time and many more are disappearing in China whilst the virus epedemic is on.

No weekend  protests about China from Hong Kong while Coronavirus is on the lose.

Seems incredible that China has got 500 million people in lock down with this virus, with  TV footage of these generally large bustling cities making them look like ghost towns.

"Freaky" comes to mind ....................

What will China do now that their own economy is starting to suffer?  Weren't they pumping out electric cars 24/7 ...factories closing down daily ....stopping imports/exports?

Will they "print" more money?  Recall some of their loans to Island nations and Africa (or takeover what they already "own" with their "loans"?)

I have no idea?  Anyone know or have ideas?

Could get quite ugly IMO ......

I think people should remember that China saved the western world from a shocking depression back in 2008 thanks to corruption occurring in the USA and other western countries. China loaned massive amounts of money dirt cheap to western countries, especially the US to get them out of trouble. China is not all bad. It is a country that is economically advanced in the world. The Chinese people are very good with money and economics. Unfortunately this gives Chinese individuals a head start in our country when it comes to investment and buying up our assets. But that perhaps is more a fault of our own government not protecting our assets than of the Chinese who are so very good at advancing themselves, both individually and as a government, economically.

If you read about what they are doing to the Uyghur muslims in China, nothing surprises me what they might do to all of their citizens:

http://chng.it/xnYHG9pcDq

What is a REAL worry is that these darn cruise ships are of the coast of where ever and they are pumping out the used water ETC.  from the ship -- this also could cause a BIG problem with people swimming in the area  _PLUS in Japan they are also desalinating the water to reuse -- AND that will have so much radiation ---in it because of the amount of radiation they are spilling into the ocean from Fukushima it may also may have some virus, because of the water they got rid of.

Now we have a ship off OUR coast!

Hi Plan B.

Thank you for your comments about my husband.  We shall play it by ear.

Regarding this vessels, my main concern is the bilge tanks on board these vessels.

https://www.marineinsight.com/tech/sludge-and-bilge-management-onboard-ships/

They are not supposed to release their waste into the oceans, but they  have the waste pumped into our various city sewerage disposal outlets.  I am thinking of the germs that get put into these and then pumped out into our oceans.

It is not just the cruise ships, but all the other vessels that call into ports around the world from the cargo vessels to container ships.  There are many from China especially the container ships.

Then goodness knows what will happen to the fish we eat!  Talk about recycling and what goes around comes around.

The immune system can only take so much, no matter how healthy one eats.

Fish has not been safe to eat for years, full of toxins, you need to eat lower on the fish food chain, the higher the more concentrated. I think the cruise ships will suffer a lot and lose a lot of business after this. They are breeding grounds for germs anyway.

Yes, indeed, PlanB and Celia, you are absolutely correct about shipping of any description.

Do you know if any Australian Port Authority places restrictions on what these vessels are permitted to do in our waters?

Celia, I was so sorry to read about your husband.

My thoughts are with you.

There is constant resseach on cures for Leukemia ... and I hope that such will benefit your husband.

According to the "New York Post", A North Korean official who returned from China has been executed for going to a public bath in violation of his quarantine.

"The Diplomat" reports that cremation is now mandatory, which is not an uncommon way to dispose of bodies carrying viruses.  However, now  irrespective of cause of death, cremation is required.

Residents are unhappy with this decision as they are prevented from having a funeral, which makes mourning practices diffficult.

North Korea has an appalling health care system, whilst also lacking many medications.  The people are malnourished, which further lowers their resistance.

Whilst America and other countries are offering assistance, a problem is the DPRK's lack of transparency.

Currently, the government is "claiming that burdock is a cure for conovarus and promoting a medicine made with it."

.

https://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/herbs-and-spices/burdock.html

It does detoxify the liver and boost's the immune system, but if that's all they have then it is better than nothing, has been used for centuries in Asia.

Here is more about what the Chinese are doing to 1 million people.
