Where did the Coronavirus 19 originate from? and anything relative to the virus.

Coronavirus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans': Top vaccine scientist says it could only have come from an animal through a 'freak of nature' - and the possibility it leaked from Wuhan lab MUST be investigated

Scientists have produced evidence that the pandemic virus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans', raising fresh questions over whether its origins were natural or could have occurred in a laboratory.

I am just wondering how do they confirm that a person has the virus? Do they lab test every person's blood? That is a lot of man hours in the lab and a lot of staff needed. Makes me wonder if the diagnosis is correct on so many people. Sadly read today that the Chinese government is also ordering the disposal of pets.

https://www.onegreenplanet.org/animalsandnature/chinese-citizens-being-ordered-to-dispose-pets-even-though-it-has-no-connection-to-coronavirus/

There's been an extension of testing in Queensland.

Coronavirus testing will be expanded in Queensland with private pathologists now authorised to collect samples from anyone who may have been exposed. Pathologists across the state will send samples to be tested by Forensic and Scientific Services in Brisbane, Health Minister Steven Miles told parliament on Wednesday.

Testing is only effective once a patient has symptoms. The expansion of collection points comes after the diagnosis of an eight-year-old boy at the Gold Coast University Hospital where he had already been under quarantine.

https://www.standard.net.au/story/6614756/coronavirus-testing-expanded-in-qld/

Sad about the pets in China ... overkill?

I knew about the Queensland testing my concern is how are they able to test thousands of people? Is anyone who has a temperature being tested? Symptoms can be similar to any cold or flu virus.

Ummm...Continue to wonder about the stats coming out of China, and given that many people can get a bout of the virus  in mild illness form, starting to think in some instances there may be some people  with coronavirus who don't get tested thinking they just have a fluey type of cold or similar and throw it off.

But alarmingly it's a bit of a Russian roulette type of virus in that some get mild illness and others die...

But given the teeming populations in China - cities, towns, villages- am struggling somewhat with accuracy of the stats being quoted by authorities.

Wuhan Coronavirus OutbreakLast updated: February 5, 2020, 10:55 GMT Cases - Deaths - Countries - Death Rate - Transmission Rate - Incubation - Age
Coronavirus Cases:24,623

of which 3,223 (13%)
in critical condition

Deaths:493

Recovered:990

China's National Health Commission (NHC) says that:

about 80% of those who died were over the age of 60.

75% had pre-existing conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes

Personally I would sooner trust the Chinese stats to the Au ones

... Self quarantine ...what a joke that is

crossing out the departure country and replacing it with another ?

...Just how is a person like that allowed into Australia ??

..... said to my friend only a week or so ago .......imagine if you on a cruise ship and this new virus hits?

Well it's happened!  Can't imagine why they would not dock and get everyone off?  To shut everyone in their cabins for 14 days?  Expect some big law suites/demands for full refunds etc. etc. surely?

Talk about 'cabin fever on steroids'....no idea how this cruise ship scenario will end but strongly suspect others with Coronavirus will be diagnosed.

I thought this snippet interesting ........saw some Govt. spokesperson on news late last night - saying they had been unable to contact any of the Aussies onboard this liner ....Karl Steph (Today Show) got in touch with a couple via skype and spoke at length re their predicament.

Karl finished up with:  "Anything else you wish to add?"

Yes!  said couple .....if you Karl can get in touch with us why the excuses from the Govt.?  We have not been contacted by anyone else as to what to do etc.  .....

Sounds like this Government to me Foxy lies and more lies -- what a lot of utter ------- words fail me with the lot of them -- they are all crooked as,  and have to go!

Another bundle of lies by you Foxy. The government has made a lot of effort to contact Australians on board the ship and have been successful.

I see they are using the seawater to turn it to fresh for the ship to use --  Good luck with that as Japan are STILL to this day and since it happened in 2011 emptying the radiated water AND soil etc into the sea there -- so the seawater will be fully contaminated I also noted that Japan was offering very cheap flights  -- $150  once again.

Passengers Quarantined on Coronavirus-Hit Cruise Ship Off Japan

By

Feb. 5, 2020Updated 6:22 p.m. ET

TOKYO — Around 3,700 people are facing at least two weeks locked away on a cruise liner anchored off Japan after health officials confirmed on Wednesday that 10 people on the ship had tested positive for coronavirus and more cases were possible.

While the infected patients were transferred by Japan's coast guard to hospitals on the mainland, the remainder of the passengers and crew on board the Carnival Corp ship were placed in quarantine.

"I want to take sufficient care of the health of passengers and crew and make every effort to prevent the spread of the virus," Japan Health Minister Katsunobu Kato told reporters in Tokyo.

The decision meant that passengers on Carnival's Diamond Princess, which had arrived back in Yokohama on Monday after a 14-day round trip, will now spend another two weeks on the ship off Yokohama port near Tokyo.

Passengers on the ship took to social media to detail their predicament, posting photos of officials in masks and gowns conducting health checks, room service meals, empty corridors, and a barren deck.

British passenger David Abel said all passengers were confined to their cabins on Wednesday morning, with staff delivering food room-by-room.

"The challenging situation for me is that I'm an insulin dependent diabetic," Abel said in a video taken in his cabin and posted to his Facebook page, adding that regular and timed food intake was a key part of managing his condition.

"We don't have a choice in what we can eat, the announcement recently was that they're starting on the bottom deck and working their way up - I'm on the ninth deck."

"This is not a good situation for me as a diabetic and I'm certain that there are many, many more diabetics on the ship."

Another passenger, using the handle @daxa_tw, tweeted that he was "hearing from many sides that people are troubled and uneasy."

The cruise ship was caught up in the global coronavirus epidemic after an 80-year-old Hong Kong man, who joined for part of the 14-day cruise, tested positive for the virus after disembarking in Hong Kong on Jan. 25. The man had joined a shore excursion in Kagoshima, southwestern Japan, on Jan. 22, local media reported.

Everyone on board on the ship since Monday had received initial health screening, Kato said on Wednesday, a process that identified 273 people for testing. Of that smaller group, 31 results had been received so far, revealing the 10 confirmed cases.

Kato said that officials would continue to monitor the remaining passengers and crew for the potential development of symptoms, suggesting that more test samples could be taken.

None of the 10 infected people - three each from Japan and Hong Kong, two Australians, one American and one Filipino crew member - had severe symptoms, public broadcaster NHK reported.

FREE TRIP

In an effort to soothe quarantined passengers, Carnival's Princess Cruises said they would receive free internet and telephone services "in order to stay in contact with their family and loved ones, and the ship's crew is working to keep all guests comfortable."

The ship would go out to sea to perform "normal marine operations", it added, including the production of fresh water, before receiving food and other supplies from Yokohama.

Carnival said that passengers trapped on the Diamond Princess would receive both a full refund and a future cruise credit. It canceled another two cruises that had been scheduled for the same ship to leave Yokohama on Feb. 4 and Feb. 12.

Not all passengers were overly concerned about the major change to the itinerary. American Ashley Rhodes-Courter posted a text message exchange on Instagram with her parents, Gay and Phil Courter, who are on board the ship.

The couple joked that "the food is great, the staff is in good spirits and we're all in the same boat .. Plus they have not run out of some great pinot noir."

How are we to know what is legit? And again I ask how on earth can they have the manpower and lab tests done for so many people to confirm it?

"New conspiracy theory" (or truth from Chinese people posting on internet & from mobile phones) ...........

Word has leaked from sources in China that the figures given to the WHO of sick and dead people are more than anyone will ever know!  They have complete towns in lockdown and there are people lying dead and ill in streets - waiting to be picked up in trucks!

Chinese Govt. (soldiers) are also "disposing" of hundreds and hundreds of people that are a "threat to them" (under the guise of this virus) -  to get rid of the thousands in their "internment centres/camps" costing them money!!

Also using the term "virus" as "an excuse" to "ethnic cleanse" their Muslim population.

This "theory" is running rife on social media and was touched on by Bronwyn Bishop just now on the Paul Murray Show (Sky News).  I just watched it and was amazed she was expounding this "theory" also .....?

....never say never .......... ?

Wow Foxy, I had an inclining there might be something more to this, Josh Fryburger said China is 4 times bigger than when it had the Sars virus, not sure if he was talking about the economy or the amount of people, maybe they are trying to cut down on the population and why they are buying up all over the world, have you heard about all the sports stadiums they have built in Africa to sweeten up with the leaders there? I think that China could be the worlds biggest threat to the world.

Yes I have heard of the sports stadiums and of the infastructure and the hundreds of Chinese still there building roads bridges etc.

As you probably know a lot of the Pacific Isles. have borrowed money from the Chinese with amounts far exceeding what they will ever be able to repay!  PNG is on "borrowed time" as they have had their loan repayment time extended yet again....China has warned these islands IF they do not repay they will become the property of China!

It's time the Australian Govt. stopped any more purchases of our land/homes/businesses.....

I agree with you musicveg and also think China IS the biggest threat to the world!

Hear-hear to you Foxy/musicveg/ you just never know and more and more   "conspiracies"    turn out to be TRUE, so do not ever dismiss them.

Stop selling out to them,  there IS an agenda!

But the Chinese have Koala bears don't they?

Sorry of course I know they are not bears slip of the keyboard. Guess they don't have enough room for the big reds. Have you actually been to China to see that they are healthy? Good thing we might need to buy some back because we are stripping Koala habitat and pushing them to extinction in the wild.

Hahahahahahahaaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa ......................ROFLMFAO

What is your maniacal response about?

To someone who has never left the shores of Australia, Nanjing must seem like going to the moon.

Did you learn any languages at your private school, even a little bit of French? ABE speaks five languages.

PS: musicveg, do you not find Foxy's response above offensive? What do you think? Tell us.

I don't really know why Foxy wrote that maybe did not believe in what ABE wrote or was because something I wrote. So it depends on the reasoning behind it, might have been because I put koala bears and nothing to do with anything else.

'ABE speaks 5 languages'...

.the most predominant being BS!

Surely the quantity of skiting and big noting and craving to impress that has come from this mob over the years can in no way be considered normal...

I don't answer your questions "strummin' man"!

I have said many times prior - this is possibly ONE TROLL going under other names!  One makes a comment - then it's "psycho self" returns under another avatar!  Pathetic and extremely ugly personalities!

"They/IT" accuse's others of lying constantly - but are the biggest LIARS on this site!

My comment had nothing to do with "musicveg" it was directed at ABE the AH.

By the way BANJO - try getting a life or more importantly MYOB!  I have probably been o/seas more times than you have had breakfasts!     lololol

Heard somewhere this morning that those on the cruise ship moored off Japan are now allowed out of their cabins in a type of staggered times process but must stay a metre apart....Good luck with that arrangement in trying to limit contagion!  I mean are sneezing and coughing germs confined to a distance of 1 metre?  Wouldn't they just be sort of floating around in corridors etc.

Interesting  theory you've mentioned Foxy - but it probably wouldn't be the first time in history that disease/germ warfare was used to get rid of unwanted people or enemies.  Can vaguely recall something about smallpox infected blankets being given to native Americans at some time. Think also in medieval war arenas people who had  died of plague or similar were catapulted over castle/city  walls to infect those hiding within.

Even guess colonisation could be seen as a type of germ warfare given many colonised indigenous populations were severely impacted due to the spread of European diseases previously unknown to them.

But very difficult to gauge the real state of play when it's comes to cultural face saving, politics, and power games.

Well there is now another massive cruise ship just outside of Japan!  The Japanese Govt. has just released that the ONLY people allowed off into their country from this ship -  are Japanese citizens.

A number of Pacific Islands that these "floating cities" visit on their cruise itinerary have also placed a ban on them docking at their facilities.  Reason being - as island nations they do not have the doctors/hospitals/medical availability etc. etc. should this virus hit them!

Sounds very reasonable to me!!

Stop spreading your misinformation. The people let off the boat were taken straight to isolation units in various hospitals because they are suspected of having the virus.

.... read my first paragraph correctly you illiterate fool! I'm not referring to the "Diamond Princess"!

So .....  "Stop spreading your misinformation"!

"The Virus" ABC TV special on tonight (7/2/2020), 7.30 on ABV News channel and 10.00 pm on ABC. Catch up with all they know about how it started, spread etc.

Also repeat at 11.30 pm on ABC News channel and 12.30 pm on Saturday afternoon on ABC.

Oh thanks for that musicveg - will make sure I record/watch one of those time slots.

... decided to watch it at 10pm after reading the "blurb" on it .....the "myths and misinformation" part should be interesting!

No worries Foxy we can discuss later, I hope to catch it at 10 too.

I just watched it. Didn't think it was great but I do appreciate ABC trying to give us information based on facts. One thing was mentioned that I have previously considered anyway - the "experts" said (or at least one of them said) that they think the numbers who have caught it are much higher because for many it is such a minor presentation that they don't even go to a doctor, so if this is the case, the death stats are lower than 2%, possibly much lower. There was also a guy who said he caught it early and used flu meds and HIV meds to recover. I have read about the use of HIV meds to treat it but don't know how accurate the information is on their efficacy. Would be ironic that HIV anti viral meds could help to cure a pandemic if true.

ABC show "The Virus" was a bit disappointing really, not any real new information except them reassuring us that we are safe in Australia.

Did you believe that we are safe? I'm not so sure....would they just tell us that to stop us panicking? I guess we'll find out down the track.

Yes I believe we are safe if we follow the usual hygiene protocols and keep our immune system healthy, pineapples are sweet this time of year and provide a good boost of vitamin c.

Well I thought the info. on the show was a little more informative in areas I had not heard prior:

Although I was aware that the Chinese eat/use snake venom etc. for their outdated medical remedies...... I was unaware that beavers and wolf cubs were also sold for human consumption!   Disgusting!

I also was aware that the Dr. who first reported this virus - died!  However - what I didn't know he was classified by the Chinese Govt. as a "Whistleblower" and they were extremely angry that he (along with 5 others) leaked it to the World!  They have all subsequently and conveniently died or "disappeared"?

The Chinese website "Weibo" - has angry and upset Chinese citizens asking:

Did he really die of the virus?  Also - where are the other 5 that the Chinese Govt. arrested??

Have to wonder about this surely?

It was interesting also that it was mentioned that Indonesia - which has a huge Chinese population - has not reported ONE case of Coronavirus - yet!

Indonesia IMO would also be a "questionable" country as to a massive "cover up"!

"Weibo" (China's microblogging site)  has had 1.5 BILLION hits in the past couple of days also on "WeChat" messenger the Chinese are expressing their outrage at the Govt. (never seen ever before?) as citizens are taking to social media and starting to question their own Govt.as to what is really going on and what they are NOT being told!

"Gossip" has it that the Chinese Govt. are extremely concerned they are "losing their communistic hold" on their citizens!  Other than shutting down all internet and mobile phone communication there is little they can do!

Thank heavens for the younger generation of Chinese that are questioning their Govt.

Happened in Hong Kong!!   (which has gone very quiet of late?)

Foxy I had heard that the Chinese Government are working with the app providers to try to shut them down, they do not want any discussions about their Government. And yes it does seem odd that Indonesia does not have any cases yet reported.

Banjo, no need to call anyone an idiot on this forum, not everyone knows how medicine is derived and I think Foxy was more referring to eating the snakes and taking their venom rather than medicine from them.

Anyone who spreads propaganda and misinformation is an idiot.

Snakes and other animals mentioned are not eaten only in China, they are eaten in many other cultures

Forgot to add musicveg, if someone does not know, they should do their research before making ridiculous comments. When there are facts available seek them out, not give your own invalid opinion.

@ musicveg

Just noticed this comment by Ny19 on the Fires thread.

You are a total idiot Ray(yan) son of Malaysian princess. Hmm, reckon if I put the effort in searching I will be able to find your entering bullshit story somewhere.
PS. Can't your wimpy mate stand up for himself?

----------

Anything to say musicveg? Or are your friends exempt from bad behaviour?

I don't get into this tit for tat things and I have no friends or mates here, I just wish people would stop name calling, I have been bullied too but try not to partake in these things, I am only here to discuss and share and hopefully learn something too.

Banjo,

Drugs are derived from snake venom.  An important difference.

What a nasty person you are, trying to drag musicveg into your vendettas against people.

"Bad behaviour"? Look in the mirror.

It is noted that Reagan and Kiah have been banned.  Are  you stepping up in their place to support the leader of your syndicate of trolls,  Abe.

Banjo,

You may well enjoy your snake ragout.

According to a report presented by jointly by WWF and the Zoological Society of London in October, 2016, the world is on track to to lose two-thirds of its wild animals by this year.

This is due to poaching and eating wild animals and also destroying habitats.

"... more than 300 mammal species are being eaten into extinction."

Poor ole' "strummin man" ia having a meltdown! lololol - Must have forgotten to take his medication today! Either that or once again - too much of the "el cheapo Cab. Sav" too early in the day! lololol

Comes online to purely "attack/abuse" people - what a cretin!!  lol

A Chinese university says scientists identified the heavily trafficked pangolin as a possible intermediary host of the new coronavirus while the number of new virus cases declined for a second day.

The coronavirus from China is believed to have originated in bats and transferred to humans through some other animal, health officials say. The pangolin may be that key link, researchers at South China Agricultural University said Friday.

"This latest discovery will be of great significance for the prevention and control of the origin of the new coronavirus," South China Agricultural University said in a translated statement.

The research team tested more than 1,000 samples from wild animals and a found a 99% match between the genome sequences of viruses found in pangolins and those in human patients, the AFP reported, citing Chinese state media.

James Wood, a veterinary medicine professor at the University of Cambridge, told the French news agency that more data is needed and showing similarity between the genome sequences alone is "not sufficient."

"You can only draw more definitive conclusions if you compare prevalence (of the coronavirus) between different species based on representative samples, which these almost certainly are not," Dirk Pfeiffer, professor of veterinary medicine at Hong Kong’s City University, told Reuters.

Pangolins, the world's only scaly mammal, have long been valued for their meat, viewed as a delicacy in some Asian countries, and scales, used for traditional medicine, according to the World Wildlife Fund.

Recent conservation efforts have worked to protect the eight pangolin species found in Asia and Africa and threatened by illegal international trade. More than 100,000 pangolins are poached every year, according to WildAid, a nonprofit that works on illegal animal trade.

News of their possible link to the coronavirus outbreak comes as the World Health Organization cautioned Friday against too much optimism after a decline in new cases over recent days.

"The numbers could go up again … but the last two days were showing a declining trend," said WHO's director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

China reported 31,161 cases in mainland China in its update Friday. The rise of 3,143 was the lowest daily increase since at least Tuesday.

According to data collected by Johns Hopkins University as of Friday, 31,523 people have been infected and 638 killed from the outbreak that first appeared late last year.

The outbreak may have emerged from a market selling seafood and meat in Wuhan. Researchers theorize that someone bought contaminated meat at the market, ate it, got sick and infected others, creating a ripple effect around the world.

However, research in the British medical journal The Lancet suggests the outbreak started earlier than December and casts doubt on the market connection.

While the majority of cases and deaths have been in China, the virus has spread across continents, prompting the WHO to declare a "public health emergency of international concern."

In the United States, 12 people have been infected, per Johns Hopkins. Federal health officials confirmed last week the first U.S. Case of person-to-person spread of the virus.

President Donald Trump tweeted Friday he "had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China" on the country's response to the coronavirus.

"He will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone," Trump tweeted.

I personally would not mind betting a lot of patients are suffering from the common cold due to the lack of checking the dropletts prior to putting them into isolation as both have the same symptoms.  It seems panic has caught up with this virus and some could have been placed in the wrong areas and then catch the new virus, poor souls.

The news out of China appears morbid to say the least if people have a common cold they are getting tarred with the same brush.

Being their winter over there in China it stands to reason some have the flu or common cold, I just wonder what happens in our winter season, will we also be condemned with the new virus if we have the common cold?

It sure is early days.

I have a friend who is flying to Japan via Hong Kong next month. She paid insurance in case something goes wrong. She rang her booking agent and asked if there was a problem with the Coronavirus  spreading and she cannot get off the plane in HongKong, and would she be covered by the insurance. The operator said "NO", it is in small print on the ticket that the passenger cannot claim insurance if it is  a pandemic or viral on the plane. Now she is wondering if she should decide to cancel her trip and lose all her money or go and suffer the consequences. I know what I'd be doing. My friend also thought if she does go on the trip she would stock up on face masks and hand sanitizers but cannot but them in Sydney, it seems the Chinese are buying boxes of them and sending them back to China, just like they do with the powdered milk.

Celia, glad you have found some more information for all of us to boost up, keep up your raw leafy greens and fruit daily too.

Royal Caribbean Cruises bans Chinese passport holders as coronavirus infections increase

The US-based Royal Caribbean Cruises issued a statement saying: "Any guests holding a Chinese, Hong Kong or Macau passport, regardless of when they were there last, will not be allowed to board our ships." The company said that would last through February. Source.

A bit off topic but, maybe in Australia ... we are in more danger on our roads.

The Australian national road toll jumped by 4.7 per cent to nearly 1200 last year, reversing improvements and raising serious doubts over road safety strategies. In South Australia the 2019 toll increased 42.5 per cent on the year before, while in Victoria it was up 25.8 per cent. The state with the highest road toll was New South Wales with 352 deaths, followed by 268 in Victoria.

Sad!!

yep people are being too reckless, but also more people die from preventable disease worldwide, makes you wonder why the world is not in a panic with that.

Yes ... hard to get up-to-date statistics but found this. However it doesn't mention how many in certain categories were virus related deaths.

Wow thanks for thar RnR very interesting, I would say viruses would come under respiratory or heart failure, but remember really they don't die from the actual virus rather die from complications when it progresses to other failures. So sad that suicides are so high up.

Musicveg,

You are correct about preventable diseases.  However, there are protocols in place to handle these.

It is the "unknown" about the Conavirus that worries people.  I believe that a vaccine is being worked on, but apparently is not yet available.

Also ... wasn't there some concern about it mutating?  This would be a major worry.

Well the protocols for preventable diseases are not working well. Fear of the unknown is common, but this virus has been around for many years so they do know a lot about it, not sure about the mutating bit. Keep up your Vitamin C daily intake from fresh fruit and veggies because it is one that does not store in the body and it will give you a fighting chance.

"Diarrhea may be a secondary path of transmission for the novel coronavirus, scientists said Friday following the publication of the latest study reporting patients with abdominal symptoms and loose stool.

The primary path is believed to be virus-laden droplets from an infected person’s cough, though researchers in early cases have said they focused heavily on patients with respiratory symptoms and may have overlooked those linked to the digestive tract.

A total of 14 out of 138 patients (10 percent) in a Wuhan hospital who were studied in the new paper by Chinese authors in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) initially presented with diarrhea and nausea one or two days prior to development of fever and labored breathing."

"An Australian child has fallen ill with suspected coronavirus while being held in quarantine on Christmas Island.

The youngster is now being tested for the deadly disease after developing flu-like symptoms.

Samples were sent to the Australian mainland yesterday for urgent tests, as the child's family face a anxious wait.

Results are expected to be available within the next 24-48 hours."

The Lancet medical journal published an analysis of the first 99 patients treated for coronavirus at Jinyintan Hospital showing that the virus impacts/presents itself on people differently.

The most common symptom was fever and cough experienced by just over 80 people.

31 patients experienced shortness of breath.

11% experienced muscle ache.

Under 10% of patients experienced other symptoms, such as headache, sore-throat, confusion and chest pain.

Of the 99 patients, 11 died as the results of complications from the virus.  Of those dying more than 80% were older than 60.

It appears that men are more susceptible to the virus than women.  68% of patients were male, and 32% female.  The average age of the men between 50-59.

The report states: "The reduced susceptibility of females to viral infections could be attributed to the protection from X chromosome and sex hormones, which play an important role in innate and adaptive immunity."

Currently there are more than 31,390 confirmed cases globally and 638 people have died.

Geez Suze just looking at the stats you posted.

Strangely the number of recoveries compared to the number of people who have the disease looks pretty small at 1,568.

Does that mean something like 33,000 plus people are still sick with it?  Just doesn't look like many are recovering from it too quickly in my maths.

Suze,

Thank you for the update.

The stats are from 7am this morning which is over 13 hrs ago.... goodness knows what they are now.

... ......  higher unfortunately!  News channels tonight also showed the panic buying from supermarkets by the residents of Singapore!

Glad to hear you agree with me on something ABE, Vitamin C is the key, need to replenish it daily we do not store it. And yes hygiene is so important it is amazing that people have become very lazy with it, why I do not eat out anymore, I got very sick once (ruined my health for years) and too scared to trust anyone with keeping things clean so I only eat at home or take it with me if travelling.

Thanks for the advice on the saffron, I have not bought any yet, no Persian grocery near me, but will see if I can source online. And maybe the tea will go further too, so appreciate the information. I keep telling my mum she has to live to 100 she is only 83 so trying to keep her healthy is a challenge.

ABE just found it online with free shipping 5 gms for $25.99 on sale and yes it is Persian. Here it is for anyone interested: https://saffrongate.com.au/product/5-grams-finest-quality-saffron-negin-all-red/

Love the internet, paid with paypal to be safe. So excited, will let you know how mum goes with it, apparently it takes a couple of weeks to make a difference.

Foxy,

Well spied....he has been caught out as Banjo. He is Ray too.

He has caught himself out in another instant as well. Said he speaks 5 languages, quote:

"English/French/ Hebrew/ German/Mandarin"

He has told us so many times over the years that he used to live and work in Denmark yet he speaks no Danish? LOL he's losing track of his own lies.

Foxy & Ny19, ABE gave me some very good information about the saffron for my mum which I really appreciate, I would not see that as "sucking up".I think everyone here has their good side and bad sides, I am probably one of those stuck in the middle (my life story) I am always trying to give everyone a chance to redeem themselves and encourage people to be civil at least, we can all be a little nicer to each other and get along can't we? Yes I tend to look at life through rose coloured glasses, and I always have been one to avoid conflict, not my cup of tea.

And yes ABE and I have had our moments of disagreeing in the past too. We cannot all agree on everything. I love the saying "agree to disagree".

Mr Binskin uploaded another picture of on his bed enjoying his wine with the caption 'happy hour drone wine, going troppo'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7981025/Gold-Coast-couple-quarantined-Diamond-Princess-Cruise-Ship-wine-delivered-drone.html?ito=email_share_article-image-share

An Australian couple stuck on board a cruise ship in Japan have had two cases of wine delivered by drone.

The Diamond Princess, operated by Princess Cruises, was quarantined on Monday upon arriving at Yokohama.

Dave Binskin and his wife Jan contacted his wine club and ordered some drinks while he's quarantined on a cruise ship

Had to chuckle at this news!

Where there is a will there is a way!
