Missing Campers

Police released images of the campsite used by the pair. Mr Hill's car was still perfectly functional

A very strange story Celia.

The search has been called off and according to a news report Mr Hill's wife Roybn, 71, said she had no idea they were travelling together.

She said her husband had been friendly with Ms Clay for decades but she had no idea they were travelling together.

Poor woman, imagine how she's feeling, what a shock.

Police in every state have vowed to exercise zero tolerance for those heading to popular holiday spots, with jumping in the car only legal for trips to the local supermarket, chemist and work. Pictured is the beach closed at Coolangatta, Queensland's most southern coastal strip

Speaking of the Gold Coast .... how dumb is this?

A 31-year-old Gold Coast man was stopped at the border at Tugun in his Ford Ranger around 5.30pm on Wednesday afternoon. Officers searched his vehicle, locating 93kgs of cannabis inside a trailer along with $4,300 in cash. The drugs are estimated to have a street value of $450,000. He was arrested and charged with the possession of dangerous drugs and the possession of property suspected of be used in connection with a drug offence. He was also issued with a $1334 fine for breaching the Chief Health Officer’s direction.

It wasn't his day was it!  LOL

New lifeline for struggling Aussies: Hardship payments will soon be available to help cover utility bills

Australia's premiers have agreed to establish 'hardship payments' to cover some of the costs of water, rates and energy bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tim Minchin  has said Scott Morrison does not deserve credit for Australia's successful response to coronavirus https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8206601/Tim-Minchin-blasts-Scott-Morrisons-response-coronavirus.html?ito=email_share_article-image-share

Tim Minchin has said Scott Morrison does not deserve credit for Australia's successful response to coronavirus.

The left-wing comedian released a song this week criticising the Prime Minister for going on holiday to Hawaii during the bushfire crisis and 'fumbling' in coronavirus press conferences.

Minchin agreed that Australia has done remarkably well to 'flatten the curve' and reduce the infection rate since it spiked at 460 new cases on 28 March.

Silly business from Tim IMO.

Three Springs police give Easter Bunny fitness test ahead of egg deliveries

Little White Bunny - Happy Easter Pictures, Photos, and Images for ...

The Easter Bunny may have have been given special permission to cross the border by the Premier, but that doesn’t mean he gets out of a gruelling fitness test from regional WA’s police officers.

Being in charge of WA’s Easter egg deliveries is tough work so the officers at Three Springs police station have made sure he’s up to the job.

Officer in charge Vance Davison, who is also the coach of the local football team, published a video to the station’s Twitter account today which showed the Easter Bunny being coached through press-ups, sit-ups and egg catching.

“We take the COVID-19 travel restrictions seriously here in Three Springs.

“The good thing is we’ll process your exception and you’re good to go. Now, about your fitness for Sunday,” Sgt Davison told him.

Sgt Davison said the officers at the tiny town, which has a population of about 600 people, would spend Sunday morning escorting the Easter Bunny as he delivers chocolate eggs to children on their driveways.

[Three Springs, is a name of a country town in WA for our interstate people]

In the meantime, he said the officers would make sure the bunny of the moment was prepared for the big day.

“He passed his fitness test but he had to work pretty hard, there’s still time for him to go yet,” he said.

Landmark $200,000 coronavirus vaccine trial is launched in Australia that could potentially boost immunity against the deadly disease

About 500 South Australian hospital workers will be asked to participate in the trial to better protect them against COVID-19.

They will be very brave people to trial this, I hope there are no serious side effects. You can boost your immunity naturally, there are many ways, I hope this means we can lift restrictions soon.

Talking about lifting restrictions soon, it was just on the news WA is going to remain the same for six months!

Celia I just heard they will lift some restrictions at the end of the month, so what you are hearing is just scaremongering by the news channel. And that was the words out of WA premiers mouth what I heard. There may be some restrictions for longer, but not full lockdown because that will be dangerous according to the viroligists on 60 minutes tonight. Too many experts and too many opinions from politicians. Every night there seems to be someon new talking about their expert opinion!

How to cook your vegies to maintain good nutrition and support your Immune system during coronavirus

 Mix of brightly coloured vegetables

Vegetables are a great source of vitamins and minerals if they are cooked correctly.(FlickR: Jeremy Keith)

Ever had a meal where the vegetables were so overcooked and tasteless that you wondered if there was any nutritional value left in them?

Vegies are a good source of fibre, vitamins, minerals, and a group of substances called phytonutrients or phytochemicals.

Getting the most out of our vegetables is critical to support our immune system during the coronavirus pandemic.

While cooking makes many vegies easier to digest, cooking them for too long at high temperatures, or with too much water turns them into a tasteless mush and leaches away nutrients.

This is especially so for vegies that contain water-soluble vitamins (vitamin C, B1, B2, B3 and folate).

Yes most people cook their vegetables way too much and then they become tasteless and they have to add salt and sauces. I only steam vegetables but have most of mine raw which is the best way to get nutrients.

Also critical for immune support is Vitamin D, why office workers, hospital workers and others who spend too much time indoors can be lacking and more likely to get sick.

Each to their own Incognito it would not do if we all liked the same thing.

I remember in the 50s and 60s women used to put bicarb in the veg water and all the nuitriants would be poured down the sink, but the vegetable colour remained attractive!  LOL

I have been steaming our vegs for some years now, I do make gravy for some meals and put sauces on for husband.

Having said that, not that long ago it was suggested by a scientist here in Perth than woman should take bicarb for their bones.  Which makes me wonder if the bicarb in the vegetables helped women our mothers age to have stronger bones than we women have in this day and age.

Interesting never heard about using bi carb.

HOLIDAYS?

Australia's tourism minister Simon Birmingham (pictured, left) warned Australians they may not be going abroad for some time

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8215577/Australias-tourism-minister-issues-warning-international-travel-unlikely-resume.html?ito=email_share_article-image-share

Australia's tourism minister Simon Birmingham (pictured, left) warned Australians they may not be going abroad for some time

Australians could be blocked from going abroad until at least January, with the ban on international travel likely to stay until next year.

Holidaymakers should avoid booking any international travel during the coronavirus crisis, warned Federal Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham.

'I wouldn't put any guarantees that you could undertake that overseas trip in December,' he told ABC's News Breakfast.

'This is a time where, unfortunately, people can't undertake holidays and they won't be able to go overseas for quite some time to come.'

With travel restrictions between states likely to ease in the coming months, people are instead being asked to start 'dreaming' about their perfect Australian getaway.

That is crazy, so much for the kids to look forward to Christmas school holidays, but then might be better for Australia if they all take holidays here, hope that will be allowed soon.

The manager of this Springvale company told Daily Mail Australia he was shipping pallet loads of baby formula to China legally

It is crazy that this is going on amidst a crisis, well even at all ever. There needs to be more regulations regarding importing and exporting.
