Wouldn't it be Loverly :)

Wouldn't Seniors whether on a Government Pension or Fully Self Supporting or Part Self Supporting and all Persuasions of folk, be happy with a bloke like Senator Nick Xenophon looking after our interests..........
If only.

there seems to be some consternation over "political debate" and I can empathise with people who have little or no interest in it. Likewise, I acknowledge that the forum gives us all the right to express opinion and engage in debate.

I dont think it would be a great imposition on Admin to set up a new category titled "Political issues/debate" or some similar name. Then, we would have minimal confusion and people who are not interested in politics can ignore the category or just drop in occasionally out of curiosity.

As always your post is succinct and to the point kfc.

Sounds a great idea.

All the best

I am really sorry that I mentioned, in passing, that any discussion on "Nick Xenaphon for President" was a tiny, wee bit out of place on the thread, "Wouldn't it be lovely" I am all for free speech, although a lot of posters, on here, profess to be in favour, but, are the first to object. I am not going to quote the many threads that stated that political comments should be kept to the hot topics & the participants who are interested in cake baking etc, should have the rest of the site. I answered a legitimate offer from Clay to make some comments. I would genuinely like to know what others think. Perhaps we should carry on any discussions on Nick, under Political Representation

I am sure Gerry is a clever guy and I am sure knows a lot about computers so very very busy, but we are all waiting and watching for your webpage for the new Seniors Party.

It has been a couple of years now hasn't it? Must be a heck of a lot of work involved to take this long but thank you in advance.

Clay, you asked me for my comments regarding Nick Xenaphon. I gave them honestly. Surely, his fans could now either agree, or defend him, or phone him & discuss him representing all us Seniors.

I note that I am banned from disgussing Politics on here anymore, so I wish you all luck with your next pension increase.

BTW Terrib, I phoned Des Reddan regarding a new Political Party to represent pensioners. He told me that he was only putting his toe in the water & was totally impressed by the utter lack of interest other than critism.

Thats not true innes ...........Admin said that they feel it prudent to close the current topic and to maybe open another section for ..........Political Discussion ...........or some such ...............you have as much space to comment in the new one as we all have ...............

clay , once again you beat me to it.

Is innes banned from political discussion ?

hmmmm Am I missing something ?

I thought Administrators made it clear that political discussion is very acceptable

As innes previously said, he would like a web site - I have provided that.

Now it is up to Innes , If he does not take the opportunity within a week to use it , then the dream is lost.

Let us see,

Gerry

We will now see the fibre Mr. Innes is made of.

Was he serious? or was he maybe a lot of talk but no substance?

Well done Gerry! Mr. Innes is very lucky to have you helping him so maybe today we will be reading about The Seniors New party?

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work I go.
