More on animal cruelty.



[i]An echidna has died after it was taped to a set of fireworks and set off into a backyard north of Wollongong.



Police were called to a house near Woonona this morning where they found a dead echidna, lawn mower catcher, fuel can and fireworks.



Officers say it appeared the fireworks were attached to the animal with electric tape and ignited.



Police have described the incident as an act of cruelty and are urging any witnesses to come forward.[/i]



If this does not get a jail term I will be disappointed.

Honestly I can never understand what these idiots get from torturing a helpless animal.

Do to them what they did to the echidna is my thought.

That is just horrible. I hate them absolutely HATE them.

I too hope they get their just desserts....and I do not mean cake..... :(

We had a huge probably very old Echidna came under our fence at Loch Sport

every day for his/her drink of fresh water and was SO used to us took no notice

of us at all - we felt SO blessed along with two Blue Tongue Lizards

in our front garden and SO often we had to step over them sunning themselves on

our warm concrete front steps. They also were very used to us and accepted us

as never going to harm them. We do miss them. :( but love living here in The Valley

also. Happiness is what we make of where we live, and what we have and what is inside

us in this life. Not what was! or could have been! or maybe will be! BUT What is NOW...

You dohave to question the mentality of the morons that do these things to animals ,,,,Every time I see something like these two acts of bastardry,what would their parents do if they found their offspring had done something like this, ?I would be mortified and I think I would be tempted to belt the bejesus out of them with the iron cord ,preferably with the hot iron still attached Seriously,I would wind up in prison because I really would belt the hell out of my boys, even at the ages they are now ,all in their 50's if I found they had done something like this

What a blessing when she was arrested by the police and charged for
