Symptoms of Iodine Deficiency
Quoted from Second Opinion Newsletter
Dr. Robert Jay Rowen, Editor-in-Chief
October and November, 2004
Here is a small list of some of the many symptoms of iodine deficiency. See how many of these you can relate to!!

October, 2004, Issue:

It is possible that Iodine deficiency could cause breast or prostate cancer, as well as be responsible for fatigue, chronic illness, or many other ailments.

"During the 19th century, iodine was considered the universal treatment: “If nothing else works, try iodine” was the adage. Considering the broad range of symptoms of thyroid deficiency (fatigue, hypertension, depression, hair loss, hoarseness, dry skin, constipation, cold intolerance, concentration difficulties, muscle cramps, menstrual problems, poor memory, inability to concentrate, weight gain, nervousness, infertility, irritability, bone thinning, just to name a few), no wonder it was promoted as the universal treatment..."

Cretinism — a cause of deafness and mental impairment of children — is caused by an iodine deficiency during pregnancy!!

"Iodine should be stored in your fat tissues, liver, heart, salivary glands, stomach cells, parts of the eye that deal with aqueous fluid and intraocular pressure, and even in specific brain cells that are related to Parkinson’s disease."

WHAT??? My mother's companion died of Parkinson's. Michael Fox, that darling man, has it too. There is evidence now that a simple iodine deficiency is part of the problem. It's too late for Ed. Has anyone told Michael?

"The second largest concentration of iodine in the female body is in the breasts. To give you an idea of how much iodine your body needs, the breasts must have 100 times as much iodine in the blood to have their fill as does the thyroid! The same is true for the other endocrine glands, the prostate, stomach, and white blood cells."

"Many of us integrative physicians have used iodine for decades to completely quell all symptoms of fibrocystic breast disease and menstrual-associated breast pain."

"Iodine deficiency could also be the cause of your fatigue, chronic illness, immune defects, and lack of stomach acid."

November, 2004, Issue

"Fatigue — An underactive thyroid typically causes fatigue. Iodine supplementation can quickly activate the thyroid and relieve fatigue. Dr Abraham reports iodine deficiency may harm pituitary-adrenal function in rodents. Your adrenal is essential for energy and stamina."
...
"Thyroid disease — When there’s not enough iodine to bind with cell membranes, it allows enzymes called peroxidases (which can damage those membranes) to wreak havoc and cause autoimmune disease, such as thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s or Grave’s)."
...
"While iodine will help the thyroid increase the production of hormone where necessary, it also inhibits over-release from the gland by giving thyroid enzymes what they want. These iodine-seeking enzymes that attack thyroid membranes can be normalized when they get the iodine they need. This old information is terrific news for the many people (usually women) who have been told to have their thyroid removed to end hyperthyroidism. These draconian measures ensure the patient will have to rely on prescriptive thyroid hormone for the rest of their life. But iodine can completely solve the problem."

"Poor digestion — many organs need iodine, but can’t absorb it until the blood measurements reach very high levels. The stomach and salivary glands are two such organs, but they can’t uptake iodine in any significant amounts until the blood level reaches 100 times what the thyroid needs. Most people do not produce enough stomach acid as they grow older. I firmly believe low gastric acidity can be caused by iodine deficiency, as iodine promotes stomach acidity!"
...
"Breast, ovarian, and skin cysts — In addition to fixing almost all cases of breast cysts, iodine also has a remarkable healing effect on ovarian cysts, and even on skin cysts. (For the latter, I recommend rubbing in iodine right over the cyst.)"
...
"Dementia and glaucoma — Iodine is found in large amounts in the brain (including the parts of the brain associated with Parkinson’s disease) and the ciliary body of the eye, a possible factor in glaucoma."

THANK YOU, Dr. Rowen, for bringing out this information. You have made a major difference, not only to me, but to thousands of people suffering needlessly from simple iodine deficiency.
..
Interesting I felt.

Hi Phyl what form does Iodine come in please?

I do remember someone taking a couple of drops in milk but

for a thyroid problem. The symptoms here do seem like many of us suffer

I do not think a small amount of Iodine a day would hurt and it might

be a good thing. Will see what the Chemist says tomorrow.

Very interesting I agree.

I do not know right now Yaretzi but off to shop later today so will buy some Iodine!

We are going through Insurance to replace our beautiful but far too bouncy

floating floor in our big family room so very disappointing but we will have it

all replaced at no cost so that will be good when it eventually does happen.

.

My cute husband and I are going to take a bit of iodine and yes still think

Resveratrol is great and found an Australian place to buy it 4 bottles

x 60 caps and two free with free post. We still have plenty from TVSN left though

but would hate to run out :-)

Still love our Vibration Platform. Look forward to hearing how you find yours.

Life is wonderful.

When you buy SALT you should buy and use IODISED SALT.

It has always been recommended by Doctors as the salt to use to prevent Thyroid problems.

I use it for cooking as well..

Phyl. I read your article about iodine and then typed in

heart rhythm and iodine, the result which showed that iodine

can stabilize heart rhythm, lower blood pressure and also

thin blood, which is good news when not on warfarin.

also good for the thyroid.

Good information Phyl. keep on using the vibration board

the shaking has stirred the brain. seth.

We also use iodised salt Sandy for everything :)

I do know not to use too much iodine so would just take one

drop in a little milk or maybe two (I think it comes in drops)

We have a darn flat tyre so waiting to get that fixed before we go buy our Iodine.

Hope things are good with you and your family matey...

Thanks for that Seth. You are not just a handsome face hey 8-/

I also read up on Iodine and if it helps thin the blood yippee says I.......

I am not keen to go on Warfarin at at at all.

That Iodine sounds a good drop you recon? Sure I only mean taking a drop

or two a day as more can be detrimental.

.

Bring Mrs. Seth over and have a wobble but not if you have any added parts :)

I still have all my amalgam fillings but do not worry to much about those :

Be good......

Phyl.

Phyl, thanks for great article. What a pity our doctors have to prescribe highly toxic medications when this miracle would solve many health problems.

Here's a link for iodine by a naturopath/research chemist (walter last) trained and worked in Germany etc. now living in Qld.

You must buy top quality which is - Lugols idine and most chemnists do not keep it. There is a Chemist in Sydney that does but last time I got half strenght which I did not realise. Walter Last sells full strenght with the instructions. I take it for cancer to kill microbes parasites bacteria viruses etc - which are the cause of most of the diseases.

http://www.heal-yourself.com.au/The-Ultimate-Cleanse.html

It is a log article but follow the headings down to Lugols***

Very interesting thanks Mara. We are going to try and buy Iodine tomorrow

Will see what is available. Will also look for the one you have said on the net.

Seems it is doing good for you which is fantastic.

.

You know I have been taking three strong Beta Blockers every day since my

darn heart has decided to keep going out of sinc. but because of some searching

on the net found out how great Q10 is. We always have taken it but intermittently

and not more than one a day but I am taking 3 x 50mg tabletsa day and cut

my Betas down to two and if my heart starts to misbehave I take one Q10 and

it clicks back into a normal beat. I am over the moon. Still believe in Resveratrol

though as that got me off Panadeine Forte which is a horrible narcotic and SO

habit forming and also Coversil and especially HRT which I have been on over 20 years.....

.

Doctors do not know everything that's for sure.

Phyl, make sure it is for internal use not the thing you rub on your skin.

Also compare the strength and purity with the article I gave.

To good health****

Also did you say you've got a good deal on the Net for Reservatrol?

tnaks

mara

I will make sure it is for internal use Mara.....Thanks.

What Makes Our Resveratrol Better Than Most?

Our resveratrol product uses only the trans - grade resveratrol, and not the cheaper "cis" option. Unfortunately many suppliers go with the cheaper option - always demand access to recent independant lab testing!

Our resveratrol product is sourced from a GMP approved and HACCP certified company. Quality is thus assured with our product

Each daily serving of our T98 resveratrol product provides the body with 710 mg of pure 98% Trans resveratrol - this level of resveratrol ingestion correlates with the findings of many researchers to be close to the optimum daily intake.

We do not use fillers within our resveratrol product - so no silica, quercetin, oatbran, glidants, and other such addidives. This makes for a better quality product, but a more difficult capsule to manufacture.

We don't use micronized resveratrol within our capsules, as to date there is no supporting documentaion to suggest that there is any increase in efficacy. Our particle size is optimized for greater absorption within the GI tract.

One of the most effective, powerful and pure trans - resveratrol products available in Australia.

"How can you protect yourself against heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer's disease, increase your endurance, and obtain a balanced life? The Longevity Factor is the clearest and most concise summary on anti aging and the disease preventing properties of resveratrol to date." Robert M. Goldman., Ph.D., D.O., FAASP: chairman, World Academy of Anti - Aging Medicine.

............................................

Mara the free delivery is great plus same day posting to customerand we like the best quality one but there is a lesser one cheaper

but sure you would want the best. The four bottles plus two free are only one night

at a motel. Very reasonable price.

I spoke to a bloke called Adam via the net and he said we could pay by cheque which suits us and he said he would send them out and we can send the cheque but no waiting time for cheque to clear which we thought very fair.

We are going to order from them very soon but still have a lot from TVSN.

Phyl, who do you buy it from; the name?

thanks

mara

www.resveratrol4life.com.au

Check it out yourself Mara and see what you think.

All the best

Phyl.

Thanks for that site Phyl. Sounds fantastic. I am going to show

my colleages when I ever get to work (running so late this morn)

but not in the air today doing desk work so a change but not

excited about it.

I have been buying Resveratrol from the Chemist in one pack but now ready

to commit so will send off to this place. Maybe mind over matter

but do think my hair is thicker and my face seems to be looking quite

good.

Me also Phyl, thanks for the link.

I have been reading about it but only now have few $$ to spend...

The quality of the product sounds good.

Is this international transaction or are they American company with sales office here?

Face? can a 70yo face look like anything it used to look like?

Who cares; I am liberated**
