Seniors with one voice

I see that "NATIONAL SENIORS" is now advertising for members on TV.....they claim to have membership of 230,000 and climbing and one of their aims is to lobby government for a better deal for seniors. They require a membership fee of $29, so would appear to be not entirely "not for profit". There were a number of posts about getting a political party for seniors off the ground etc, but perhaps this or some other organisation representing we oldies might be a viable alternative.........comments please, plus details of any other organisations or initiatives that may help represent us effectively to our elected representatives

I will go on asking for an extra $100 a week for the base rate of pension after all only those on $273 would get that amount then of course it would be indexed th way it is now.

Did anyone get the Seniors Magazine from Centrelink this week not one change in the base rate and no change in the pharmacy allowance or the rental assistance. But if we are well enough and not too old to get a job we can earn an extra $3 a week before the pension starts to reduce.

Oh for goodness sake Tessata grow up. What a sook!

You cant win an argument so now you are sulking and getting abusive. In the interests of other more intelligent folk in this forum I will ignore your RANTS as quite honestly you are not worthy of comment.

I think the idea of a national Australia Pensioner's Day is great. I also think a most fitting date for it to be on would be November the Fifth, Guy Faulks day in the UK, when he tried to blow up the houses of parliment, I mean there was one cool jacked off pensioner don't you think.
