Is he really up to it?

I am starting to question the capabilities of Kevin Rudd to hold the country's top job.

I know I will have his supporters (of which I was one) say I am Labor bashing and they haven't been there long enough to accomplish anything BUT lets look him over. He is a survivor, having survived scandals of his association with Brian Burke, his getting fall-down drunk and allegedly groping a stripper, he has survived accusations of screaming foul mouthed obscenities at his staff behind closed doors and demanding public servants presence at his office to keep them waiting for hours and even being sent away unseen. There are more.

What has he accomplished? (not necessarily in order)
He said Sorry -- OK he gets a big tick for that
He has continued the assistance to Aboriginals -- having limited success in stopping child abuse
He introduced the hike in alcopop tax -- didn't work
He has decimated the Solar industry in cutting rebates
He introduced tax cuts -- completely ignored Pensioners and the Disabled. Not happy Kev
He signed up his mates to the River Murray agreement -- hasnt seen one drop of water flow to SA and could bring down the SA government
He has a introduced a Petrol Minister -- has no power to do anything except talk.
He plans to hurriedly introduce his Emissions Trading System -- the Globe hasnt been warming for 10 years. We will be going it alone to our detriment in trading with countries who arent interested.
He plans to introduce Fuel Watch, Supermarket Watch, Childcare Watch, Housing Affordability Watch -- will achieve very little, is regarded as frittering around the edges of easing our cost of living, its just watch, watch, watch.
He still hasnt told Garrett to buy a suit that fits him. LOL
There are more but I think you get my point?

As I have said before John Howard HAD to go and he should have not welched on his agreement with Costello to take over, BUT have we thrown the baby out with the bathwater?

Any takers?

Nope Soapy you are entirely on the wrong bus.

Yes I did vote for Labor's Amanda Rishworth, the first political candidate to ever knock on my door, primarily to get rid of Work Choices. I know you possibly wont believe it but I marched through our town in protest of Work Choices. Yes I did overlook its removal because I am still waiting to see what its replaced with, to see if the unions are going to accept this new 'model'. I also fail to see, in the short time he has been in office, why he has concentrated primarily on climate change, which is not happening, when there are far more important issues at home.

Yes Iraq was a lie. Are our troops out of Iraq? I thought they were still there?

I think the Rudd governments biggest disappointment to me living in SA is the poor handling of the River Murray problem that has seen not one more drop of water flow.

I am a swinging voter and will never stop scrutinising those I elected. I'm not a blind follower of anyone Soapy.

My apologies, then. You certainly didn't come across as a Labor supporter, former or otherwise.

BTW, my handle is Snowy, not Soapy.
