This Thread is about how a person who had a stroke in May 2021 is experiencing life AFTER the stroke. My Ups and Downs.

Has anyone had radiation treatment in Australia over the last couple of years please?

Husband has just been given the costing and it doesn't make any sense.

Medicare pays $20,000

If you have to have radiation treatment you are expected to pay a further $620,00 a week for five weeks.

Even if you are on a Part Pension or Pension!

Drove over to our daughter two days ago with a bag of goodies as they are sick with Covid-19.

It is a worry how little one gets for $25 in the supermarket these days.

I seem to get more in IGA though.

Inside Australia's cost of living crisis: Furious shoppers see their weekly supermarket bills DOUBLE - and there's another price shock that could send millions of hard-working families BROKE Coles and Woolworths: Major warning that will send millions of Aussies broke

Australians are paying $400 for their groceries as inflation surges at the fastest pace in two decades - and things are expected to get a lot worse. The first interest rate rise in more than a decade is squeezing household budgets, with borrowers paying off a typical $600,000 mortgage facing a $700 surge in their  monthly mortgage repayments within a year. Now prolonged lockdowns in China are expected to push up the global price of imported goods, making the hip pocket pain even worse. Daily Mail Australia caught up with shoppers Monique (left), Tina (centre) and Bronwyn (right).

It's shocking Celia, and about to get worse.  I'm so peed off with the election, I can't stand to look at either contender.  If these two men are the best the country has to offer, then it's a very sad state of affairs IMO.

Totally agree TooT!

I was hoping we may have had a woman run for office.

Husband made a comment the other day which I had to chuckle about.

He said 'the that Australian males will vote for the biggest Thug'

I had to chuckle and you know what Toot he is probably so right.

On this situation about food I have stopped buying tinned food and make my own items, I don't even buy Passta sauce and make my own also soups.  Not only is it better for you it is cheaper.

Yes, rising costs are scary ... not helped by the flooding destroying food crops ... the Lockyer valley which is Queensland's "fresh food bowl" has been hit again today with the current crops ruined overnight.

Food chain supplies have also been hit by the Ukraine crisis pushing up fuel and commodity prices.

These factors are well out of the control of any politician in Australia.

Having said that, I'm over the upcoming election too. Have posted my Postal Vote and have little further interest.

'I made this meal for 30p!' Twitter users mock Tory MP with pictures of plate of ice, a single Shreddie and a cheese cracker - after he said Britons struggling to feed their families can't cook or budget Twitter users mock Tory MP who said Brits should be 'able to feed themselves for 30p'

Social media users from across the UK were quick to mock Ashfield MP Lee Anderson Anderson on Twitter, sharing a host of 'meals' which they claimed to have made for 30p. He who earns £84,144 a year as an MP, caused uproar after he claimed that Brits 'can't budget' and there was 'not this massive use for food banks' in Britain (pictured left to right, a single piece of cereal; a tiny meal; a plate of ice; inset, an onion; a cracker with cheese).

All those styles are lovely. I think as we get older we tend to get the shorter styles, easier to look after.  The cut is the most important thing. The first lady with the glasses looks more like a wig.

Yes I like the shorter look too Hola, when my hairdresser got a job with Virgin Airlines, all her clients (including me) were devastated, she kept the salon going 24/7 and had a 10 day waiting list.  I now have the owner cutting my hair who is no way as good, and the salon is virtually deserted after clients having left in droves.  And I will be close behind them.

I love Helen's hair colour!

We can always find some one worse off than ourselves I say and I have found one poor girl in a bad way.

Mother, 35, with skin so fragile it blisters at the slightest touch reveals she stays up until 2am every day to spend hours bathing and dressing her wounds so she doesn't lose time with her children

Johannesburg woman has skin so fragile it blisters at the slightest touch

Shirvani Naran, 35, from Johannesburg, was born with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa - an extremely rare and incurable skin condition - which leaves her with blisters at even the smallest contact. She is forced to wrap herself up in bandages like a mummy on a daily basis. She was left with horrifying birth injuries after having her first child. Inset: With her son Luke.

I do hope her little baby hasn't inherited her skin condition.

I was thinking of people trying to make ends meet and thought I would share this with you.

For some years I cannot use the purchased Stock off the supermarket shelves, not sure what they put in it but each time I use it in my cooking I irritates the bowel.

So I have made my own stock and store it in the fridge for a few days, it is so much nicer that the purchased variety.

Also the other day I purchased some fresh cooked chicken lose to make sandwiches, which made me thinking I should kill two birds with one stone.

So I have been buying chicken drum sticks/legs and look for ones with a bit more meat and fat on.

I boil them up and then leave them overnight in the water.

Next day the meat is so tender and I separate the meat from the bone and skin and put it into containers for sandwiches, so I then keep the stock that it has made and store that in the fridge, it is so much better and tasty and for a dozen chicken legs I paid $7.39.  That gives me a lot of lovely chicken meat to make some lovely standwiches.

Better than any sliced chicken salami.

Sounds great Celia.

Have made some really warm yummy soups out of this lovely home brewed stock Toot!

Hubby loves it and so do I!  LOL

Stoke is also great to use in other cooking like casseroles and even making hamburgers.

Shocked mothers and fathers have slammed author Dagmar Geisler, 64, after reading segments from her book, My Body Is Growing, which vividly describes sex acts.

Beauty lover applies $950 of expensive makeup on one side of her face and $135 of products from the chemist on the other - so can you tell the difference?

Despite using different products, the full face of makeup looked exactly the same and left hundreds online second guessing themselves as to which side was which.

I think her R/side looks better, the eye is made larger and the cheek and chin are not as pronounced.

Definitely the 2 sides do not look the same to me.

Lets hope the cost of living starts to slide down!

Thomas Markle hospitalised and unable to speak after stroke: Meghan's father is taken ill DAYS before flying to UK for Jubilee events - but will Duchess visit him?

Thomas Markle hospitalised and unable to speak after stroke

Thomas Markle, 77 (left), was struck down a week before he had been due to fly to London for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Last night it was not known whether Meghan, 40, who is estranged from him (the pair are pictured together inset), was planning to go to his bedside. Mr Markle, a former TV lighting director, was taken by ambulance to a clinic in Chula Vista, California - only a few hours' drive from Meghan and Harry's home in Montecito (couple pictured right). He had earlier been admitted to hospital in Tijuana, Mexico, where he was seen arriving with an oxygen mask on his face and flanked by paramedics. Mr Markle's daughter Samantha, 57, told MailOnline: 'My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest.'
