Election day?

Election day? Or pretty soon for you folks. Just wanted to say that you all should have a happy election day. For everyone, win or lose, it is the right thing to do.

In a couple months it will be my turn in the US.

I like Bob Katter, I wish he was Prime Minister. He said:

"If I personally had the balance of power, I can tell you there is no doubt I would demand for rural Australia the right to survive. We have not had that right in 12 years of Liberal government and things have not improved significantly under the Labor Party.''

This man is a wonderful asset to this country he wants:

Increased subsidies for primary industry.

Banning of overseas banana imports.

Increased subsidies for uptake of ethanol - a product of sugar cane.

Concern about Coles and Woolworths duopoly in the agricultural sector.

Increased funding of health, education and broadband in the bush.

What Katter said is good Toot--

I think MickyMouse would have beat Howard--he had become a real problelm--I never have liked Maxine--but good she displaced Howard

I also was impressed with Bob Katter and the other 2 independants on the 7:30 report.

Interestingly enough Bob is for a public funded broadband in rural areas. That is a plus from me as while the city folk talk about their adsl2, broadband in the bush is pathetic.

I get the feeling these lucky ones say "I'm alright, stuff the bush"

I think this outcome might just have happened for the best

I never had a good impression of Katter mainly because

he appeared arrogant, but I agree with what he wants.

We should be looking after our own agricultural growers

by imposing a tax on imported items that threaten the

existence of home grown produce.

Coles and Woolworths. both shoulder a lot of responsibility

in regard to imports. as do the major stores to the detriment

of our manufacturing remnant.

I hope we do not have to vote again, if it hadn't of been for the

sausage sizzle I would not have made it home.

Ah the sausage sizzle..best part of the day!:)

I don't care for Katter much either but I do agree with what he is saying --it about time we looked after our farms etc

Never had any sausage sizzles here :(

PlanB. What an unfortunate state you must live in, no sense of

community pride! In Victoria we are not only generous and open

hearted plus also willing to share, if only you had informed us of

the lack of providing sustenance to the beleaguered votors,

we would have welcomed you to partake of the excellent quality

of victorian sausages, however it is not to late I am sure their would

still be pieces of snags laying around.

PS. The lib's ran the sizzle, charged like a bull, must be broke.

I guess a sizzle is always nice however we had quite a cold wind here that day and I was glad to get back home

Governor General Quentin Bryce is in a pickle - Labor man Bill Shorten is her son-in-law. Her daughter Chloe married him in 2009 and they have one baby daughter. He was one of the men who instigated Rudd's assassination. He has been pegged as having aspirations for the top job himself, with one betting agency making him favourite to lead Labor to the next election.

Another parliamentary secretary, Richard Marles, and Liberal backbencher Paul Fletcher were coy on Monday when questioned about suggestions Ms Bryce should step away from the decision-making process for a new government following Saturday's general election.

What a turnup for the books!

Politics is sure a dirty job Toot, we will never know what happened although I think we should be told, after all they are employed by us, I have never trusted any of them but I am getting less trustful as time goes on.

I am sure you will find with the G.G. that she will rubberstamp

as government whoever shows they can form government.

whether it be labor or liberal.

shorten being a son in law has no bearing on what she has to do.

If only one person questions her motives seth, it will be goodnight Irene.

If only one person questions her motives seth, it will be goodnight Irene.

Surely it would have to be more than question her motive,

more than hearsay from a disgruntled reporter or voter,

There would have to be proof of her going beyond her duty.

As I understand her position as G.G. prevents her from

personally choosing, she is Not involved in the process until

proof of being able to govern is placed before her.

by either party, If it is proven they can govern then she can

give the approval.

I do not believe for one minute that if one party can govern,

she will rule in favour of the other.

As she represents the Queen, that would bring the

Royal Family into disrepute..
