I had several poinciana trees but got rid of them all but one.

The poinciana is classed as an invasive garden plant on Australian agricultural land and natural ecosystems.

While it is beautiful when flowering, it is an invasive weed and jumps the garden fence (spreads it's seeds)

It is native to Madagascar.

sorry folks much as I love most trees, my knowledge of them is null and void ,,,there are some beautiful flowering trees but to me Melbourne's trees are lovely , so many shades of green I agree it ,I think it was westozzy said the Jacka's and flame trees look wonderful when together and in bloom

Yes the Poinsettia has lovely bright green leaves --fine ones--and wonderful coral red flowers --although there is a yellow one as well, it isn't a native.

I can't find a good photo of the Leopard wood at this time but mine also is a lovely tree.

I also like the Firewheel tree and have one of those but it hasn't flowered yet and I also have a flame tree--they look wonder alongside the Jacaranda --although the Jacaranda are not native either

Here ae the flower of the Firewheel

Thanks Sandi. I have never even heard of this tree so good to

see what it looks like.

No saw that one nothing at at all like the one I have mine is of a similar shape to the Poinciana--that one is way out west and in very dry area--when I get a photo of it I will try and post it here

[b]As I said there are quite a few varieties of the Leatherwood Tree. Tasmania has Leatherwood trees and they are renowned for the bees making Leatherwood Honey. Here's a site showing the Tasmanian Trees Flower.
