Sorry to hear about your divorce fwed, that must be tough. Hubby and I were married in 1966, we actually finish each other's sentences, pathetic really, but nice too. Glad you have decided to spend some time here, and I won't forget you stuck up for me, thanks.

fwed, I really do feel ffor you. As for Centerlink, it is a pity that you did not get advice earlier, because you were eligible for the single pension from the day you notified them that you were separated. You should advise them first thing Monday Morning, because, I believe it can't be back dated.

Good morning fwed, I hope you can get over the loneliness sooner rather than later. Being on my own for about 16 years, as I have, I can appreciate how you feel. I think Innes is right about Centrelink, so call them on Monday and get it sorted out. You won't be short of company on here. I wish you lots of peace and calm in your life in the circumstances. Not good times but I'm sure you'll be okay at the end of it all. All the best fwed.

Before I reached age pension age I was on a disability pension so centrelink cannot do any more for me.

I wonder what the divorce rate is among age pensioners.

But I am lucky that I have a roof over my head and do not need a lot.

There are many who are less fortunate than I am, and I can still enjoy the things that are free which are the best of all.
