Beaut Fruit Cake - simply made - simply devine.

you will not believe this if you had a problem believing Zapped Chook.

the best Fruit Cake you have ever tasted and it is so simple it sounds impossible.

750g Mixed Fruit (less expensive brand)
600 ml Chocolate or coffee flavored milk (just milk and instant coffee)
2 cups Self Raising Flour (less expensive brand)

that's all - not another thing to add - but how you ask - simple.

Put mixed fruit into bowl and mix in flavored milk
rest this in refrigerator overnight.
add flour next morning
grease and line a can - add mixture and bake in a preheated oven 180 degrees or 160 fan forced for 1 hour.

bet you could not believe this - no eggs - no butter - no sugar- no essence

lets all know what you think - i love fruit cake and cook this in the caravan all the time.

have a great day

regards
peter

HaHa Phil - your Peter is to young to remember WHITE SAVS.

like everything else when the yanky model arrived everybody thought they were better.

not only did white savs go so did shelas and blokes - exchanged for guys and gals - now its even dudes

what a pain in the bottom - i need to deepen my research to find the formula for WHITE SAVELOYS.

Brooks Lemos was famous for making canned foods and cordial - they were taken over by Tom Piper in 1954 and closed their Whiteman Street factory in 1956

get cookin good lookin

lol peter

This is why it works so well for us Jane as this is an older renovated home with a big kitchen and heaps of storage and big bench space so I did not want to change it.

Just to have a new top put on is easy and not costly at all Jane (Our tops are coming tomorrow) but told it will look amazing. We are really really thrilled with it all for not too much cost. The high costs are renovating and that takes thinking is it worth the expense if you think like us. On this we are very lucky as we had none of that to do - nothing pulled out other than the new stove/hotplate/rangehood

The savings on the kitchen will give us the floating floor for this big rumpus room we spend most of our time in and even a few other things. And just think how cheaply and happy we will live, munching three ingredient prize winning fruit cake? We will see what we will see lol.

SO nice to have Peter S. back.

I miss Club25. Are you around Richard?

well peterseaford i did your chicken recipe and..................it was delicious, the meat just fell off the bone and as i'm on my own i guess i will have to make a pig of myself and eat it all up,aw,

i will soak my fruit in the choc milk tonight and finish it off tomorrow,if it turns out good i will have it for a birthday cake as i turn the big 70 tomorrow,

i had a new kitchen put in last week so now it's a pleasure to cook in,instead of the grotty 1950's kitchen i had before,

peter

if you keep sending in these lovely recipes peter i'm going end up looking like the back end of a bus,lol

My new oven has not been connected yet Peter but I am really looking forward to your cake being the very first thing I cook in it. The chicken is just as you said great.

Your wife is lucky to have such a good cook. I know she loves you to pieces and knows just how lucky she is but hey how lucky are you also.

Be good.

Phyl.

Thats it then I am going to give it a go as well--and the checken as well--but not till next week

Oh Peter S you were right and I of little faith wrong your recipe is terrific. Such a moist easy and just 3 ingredient recipe I have ever cooked. We are eating a piece each hot from the oven - yes I know we are like a couple of kids cannot wait for Crhistmas to open our presents.

It's very yum..............Who would have thought it would turn out this moist and delic. not me - for the VERY first time in my life I was wrong lol and pigs might fly.....

Thank you.

Phyl.

Phyl did you use choc milk or coffee--and what sized tin did you cook it in please
