Baker’s Delight pulls controversial ad after backlash
A Baker’s Delight ad depicting two young girls bound and gagged to promote lemon tarts has been withdrawn.
The poster was spotted by someone at the Currambine Central shopping centre in Perth and sent to Collective Shout, a campaign movement against the objectification of women and the sexualisation of girls.
The poster portrays two frightened girls bound with Christmas tree lights and their mouths stuffed with tarts, alongside the slogan "Silent nights".
Once the issue was brought to Baker’s Delight’s attention the poster was removed and the company apologised.
“Trivialising an important issue like child abuse was never our intention and we apologise to anyone we may have inadvertently upset,” the company said in a statement.
“We have instructed our bakeries to remove the poster as soon as possible.”
Sent to us by a supporter- a chilling image of two frightened girls bound with Christmas lights and their mouths stuffed with tarts alongside the slogan "Silent nights".

What did you think of the Baker’s Delight poster? Was it offensive and trivialising child abuse?
I hope that mean manager paid those girls for doing the ad. I don't live far from Currambine, think I'll have a word with him.
