Highland cattle in Scotland

Highland cattle in winter - Bing Gallery

I love highland cattle. One I photographed in Tasmania.

There are some huge horns on these cattle.

Reminds me of my late parents in law in Scotland, they said they were chased by one!  LOL

They are not very tall in comparison to other cattle.

Rare orange-eyed owl species not seen for almost 125 years is spotted in MalaysiaRare orange-eyed owl species not seen for almost 125 years is spotted in Malaysia

Experts believe the orange-eyed Bornean Rajah scops owl, photographed for the first time, represents a distinct species. Little is known about the bird of prey, though its home on Mount Kinabalu is threatened by habitat loss and climate change.

Wow that is fantastic, no doubt they are hard to spot too, blend in so well.

I was just reading about the new puppies the Queen was gifted from Prince Andrew recently to help her ease her grief after loosing Prince Philip, I didn't appreciate how young they were taken away from their mother, only 5 weeks!  How can anyone that knows puppies accept a gift of two babies so young?  I am horrified, not only that one had a heart problem and needed surgery, the poor puppy died while being operated on.  This is so sad not only for the puppy and the queen but everyone that knows anything about puppies.   How can anyone take a pup that young away from its mother it is so cruel.

Oh that is terrible, yes I agree they should have known better, poor puppies. She should have got a rescued dog!

Excellent photo!

Did you read the article and the other photos Incognito?

Yes excellent article, incredible facts about giraffes and amazing photos.

What is this bird doing? LOL

Oxpeckers have an excellent symbiotic relationship with giraffes, keeping them healthy and free from parasites and ticks.

Such efficient dam builders.

The work in that tail is amazing.
