5 foods to prevent cancer from growing!

As seen on the Dr. Oz. show with the founder
Doctor Li.

1. Artichokes

2. Bok Choy (Chinese cabbage)

3. Flounder - Cooked

4. Strawberries.

5. Tomatoes cooked (best with a bit of Olive Oil)

All at least 3 times a week. Google yourselves
..
Sounds worth the effort as heaps of work has gone into
testing all 5 foods on many people.

Thanks for the heads-up.

The CSIRO diet has been getting top reviews too,

http://www.everydiet.org/diet/csiro-diet

I wonder how globe artichokes would grow north of the Mexican border and where to get plants. I have never tried to grow them before but it is worth a try.

And the CSIRO diet looks good. Watched that last night also.

A lot of expensive research goes into it.

..

We have never tasted Artichokes of any type in any way BUT

tomorrow (if I can buy them here in the Valley) we will, and I am going to buy

Bok Choy which we have never tasted either. Perhaps the first tastes of both

will be the last taste for us but hope not.

Will enjoy the flounder and strawberries and I love tomatoes friend in Olive Oil

All the best

Phyl.

Pak Choy is closely related, tastes nicer but is a smaller plant. Do either by slicing, then into a pan, fry for a minute tossed in small amount of olive oil and then the lid on briefly to steam. low gas or off completely. Serve with cracked pepper.

Since you are going to the Valley there is also Gay Choy and no, I am not kidding you, the variety exists.

Re the tomatoes, do you happen to do any dehydrating? I am thinking of taking it up again now that the equipment is improved and cheaper.

After listening about and Googling tomatoes re being

a preventer for cancer like you Nautilus will have a look at dehydrating

again. (have never dehydrated tomatoes but sounds a good idea.

If we can buy the Bok Choy or and Pak Choy today, tonight

we will be having it and I will let you know if we are able to eat it :)

Have a good Thursday.

I am not sure I believe in anything re eating healthy

as most everything is good one day and bad the next

but I did buy some flounder for myself today and

a punnet of strawberries (will have just a bit of cream on some

of them) and sugar on the others if they as usually is the case

sour. I always eat fried tomatoes but have to admit fried with

butter so even bought a bottle of Olive Oil to use instead

today. The other two things on the list I will tackle another time.

Korry I agree with you. My husband died with a brain tumour, he tried all these food fads etc, read that mushrooms would prevent etc etc. My advice to you all is this. Don't worry about what you read or think you can do with your lives. Be happy, don't stress and take each day at a time, because there is nothing you can do to change our destiny.

Mariak

Sorry about your huband Maria - it can never be easy for

the one suffering, or the one going through it with them and then left

behind. Dosn't matter how long passes either.

Hugs

I know what you mean re anything doing any good at all. We keep trying

but always with reservations lol. Has become a bit of a hobby ;-)

..

Anyway did you bring a note? We have missed your posts

welcome back.

Phyl.

MariaK,

So sorry about your husband.

You are right about stress. I had a friend who died from a brain tumour located adjacent to his temple. One weekend he started to suffer terrible headaches and despite surgery it was quickly downhill from there. He had been suffering from a lot of stress too.

General comment

I reckon that a change in my eating habits is due though. My diet and exercise have been so-so for a while now. It is time to revise and recharge and maybe have some fun doing it.

Anyone had any recent experience with food dehydrators? I want one that can do beef jerky as well (can't be too rigid with the health rules), which means it has to reach a minimum of 70 C quickly. The trays also need to be dishwasher safe.

Just wondering what beef jerky is? I am thinking strips of good

quality beef? I have no idea what is done from there other than maybe

dried of course) so will be interested and also in dehydrating fruit and veges.

I would like to know what to buy to do the job like you Nautilus.

..

Mara should know???? But where is Mara?

Hi Phyl, "Jerky", I believe is an American expression.... it refers to dried strips of meat (sometimes after being marinated or treated with various herbs and/or spices to give various flavours. Beef, deer, squid, ...... in fact many different things are dried this way. When dry and having lost their water content, the strips of "jerky" are quite light and suitable for use on long distance treks or where the weight of carried provisions is a consideration. The "jerky" is chewed or cooked, depending on taste and circumstances. Actually, it is mostly somewhat salty and so popular with a few beers while watching the footy.

Thanks for tht kfc. I am not sure I could eat jerky unless

starving but very interested in dehydrating fruits and veges. and

especially tomatoes.

What equipment is the best and how to?

Some footy is o.k. but will give the beer a miss

BTW kfc and Seth your family resemblance is striking

Phyl,Bok choy can be stir fried, shredded in a salad mix, steamed half and half with finely shredded cabbage bit of butter and grated black pepper till just tender dont overcook or will be bitter.Would not bother to dry tomatoes ,go to Italian wholesalers buy large jar about 5kg packed in olive oil .these are partialy dried and can be used for salads, soups, sauces especialy pasta, and are delicious drained and used on crusty rolls with ham and cheese . When all tomatoes are used you still have the oil which has a lovely tom flavour to cook with or use in salad dressings. these jars are less than $ 20 and last for ages just keep in fridge once opened .wobbly

Tried Bok Choy for the first time today and it is not too bad.

..

I am probably deprived but never tasted a dried tomato but I agree

what a buy 5kilos of tomatoes in Olive Oil. Thanks Wobbly I know a big

Italian shop which seems to have everything in a town

not far from us so will look there.
