Fight on sainter

Never give up !!!

My neighbour's son never gave up .... and got enough to pay off his mortage

He was dad looking after the kids whilst wife went to work ... had to do a number of applications.

Can anyone please answer a question?  I am working part-time and receive a small amount of NewStart.  I am eligible to apply for the pension next month when I turn 66 but I don't want to.  So, can I continue working, receiving NewStart and apply for the pension when I'm ready to?  Any help would be great

You can still work while on the pension, so you would be crazy to stay on Newstart and I doubt they allow it anyway. Read this:

https://www.dss.gov.au/seniors/programmes-services/working-after-pension-age

https://www.yourlifechoices.com.au/age-pension/pension-eligibility/can-you-earn-on-the-pension

Any doubts just phone Centrelink or go into one of their offices, or call the Age Pension line: 132 300 (8am to 5 pm)

Other option is get off Newstart and just do your job if it is enough money.

Thanks I can get off Newstart and work but my question is:  do I have to apply for the pension next month or can I wait?

I don't think it is compulsory, phone the Aged care line to make sure what you should do.
