work choices

I know that every thinking person is totally in favour of the
positive move by Rudd & Gillard to get rid of the awful Work
Choices. Rudd was Australia's Obama. A lot of voters thought
that he stuffed up & lost his way, BUT Julia insisted that she
was loyal & everything that Rudd did was for the best for Australia.
How come he was given no warnings, as per Julia's Legislation?
How come he was not given councelling & 3 warnings? How
come he was sacked following a meeting that he wasn't
invited to?

Kevin Rudd wasn't sacked, in effect he resigned.

You can't be serious Nautilus

I think as voters we have the right to know just what took place with Rudd

I am amazed at the number of Labour Party "faithful" who have come to adopt this story. I dont know if the unions have been selling it, but so many now believe that Rudd voluntarily resigned "for the good of the Party/Country".

In 2007, the Labour party was elected by the people of Australia largely (if not totally) on the basis of Kevin Rudds charismatic leadership. When the "faceless men" decided that he was a liabilty in getting re-elected, they stabbed him in the back. To me, this showed complete contempt for the Australian voter. They won with him and should have gone to the polls again with him. Only the Australian people can elect a Prime Minister and only they should be able to sack one (as was done to Goff Whitlam). I realise its not the first time it has happened, but that is another glaring fault in the Australian party politics system

This been an exercise in "survival at ANY cost".

I don't believe Kevin resigned. And Whitlam was put out by the GG at the time. I too believe we should have had the change to vote him in or out

I think we all understand that Kevin Rudd was becoming a major

stumbling block and was asked to resign, no different to what

happens in major political parties, just as we would like to know

what actually happened in the labor party is the same as we would

like to know what happens in the liberal party when their leader is

disposed of.

How come he was not given councelling & 3 warnings? Very clever Innes. I don't believe for a minute that he resigned for the good of the party, he was asassinated pure and simple.

If I can revert to the topic title Work Choices. This would be the greatest lie Labor has told the electorate.

Work Choices has NOT been scrapped as promised but renamed by Gillard and been tinkered with in deleting some of the unfair dismissal laws.It is still in effect today under the guise of Fair Work.

Why else would the Electrical Trades union donate over $300,000 to the Greens before the election to have the more Industrial laws watered down?

So true, Tanwin. It is more disturbing because Labor and the unions'spiels that they'd got rid of Workchoices was and still is so readily believed by the party faithful.

Her's a look back to 2008.
