Work after retirement

What do you think about work after retirement? I know a lot of mature workers who would like to continue working even past their retirement age. Some wants to create their own business, some would want to continue employment. Please share your work after retirement ideas.

The insight of billy amazes me, only he left out, jughead, i just wonder why scullcrushers' wife wants to escape from him so often? could it be because he/she has so many personality changes.

I don't think that it is 'work' after retirement so much, as having an interest, no matter what that may be.

I am just having my normal Monday morning blurb session.

I am amazed at people like Scull Duggery who are supposedly in their 60's and has not learned anything in his 60 years on this planet, maybe Scull Duggery is really "Simon Townsend" and the world really is wonderfull!

But I think everyone with a brain, even half a brain is well aware after being around this planet so long, you really do need a reason to get out of bed in the morning,to get up i'm saying, not playing hockey or fishimg for whales and scuba diving under the ice cap,i'm talking getting out of bed and functioning as best you can depending on your health>

what the hell is wrong with you people. Scull is merely stating how he enjoys a healthy happy life in retirement.

After working all your life, retirement is time to kick back, relax and do all the things you couldnt find time for while working

He and his wife are living a great retirement.

All he is saying is, why would anyone in retirement want to go back to work. You only live once, so live it up.

I agree with his sentiments 100%

grow up people!

his message makes a  lot more sense that many of the posts of the regulars here.

I am referring to his message. It's a good one

Jag is going back to his home on the banks of the river Nile.

the Olde Guard at it again. Shouting down new members, because they don't like the post.

what sort of members will you "allow" into this forum ? wait let me guess , bigoted, racists, homophobic, anti atheist, conniving, manipulative bogans ?

Scull Duggery is not a new member?? an old member with a new moniker?

Ha ha ha,   no, dont let it worry you.    I've known KB (woops, capitals mean respect) kb for a long time.  I was a doorman for 11yrs and I would see kb most nights.   You would see him come strutting thru the door like a little bantam rooster.       Do you remember kb, you creepy little piece of dog turd.

Now dont get me wrong, I dont dislike kb because of his sexual preference,  I believe in live and let live.  (although in the old days we always referred to him as "that little Queer",  we didnt know any better then).

But anyway, I digress....  Is the little sleeze here yet ?   Gday creepy.      Do you remember coming into the bar kb ?  remember climbing up on to the stool ?  Oh yeah, we always knew when you turned up... we could hear you,  Oh, and that bloody voice of yours,   mousey creepy little thing you were.

I remember one night you turned up, strutting in you came........tight jeans, tight t/shirt, and OMG, you had the sleeves of the t/shirt rolled up..  ..  ..you looked so stupid.     I guess you were lucky kb, 'cause you could shop for clothes off the childrens rack.

Its not the fact that you are little,     and as I say I never did care that you are gay,  except that time you put the hard word on that young bloke in the dunny. (I would have given you a clip over the ears that night, but I had taken a chap to hospital)   Never saw you again for mths did we halfman.     What it is, and has always been.......Its your mouth.

And just to prove I know you......heres another couple of things.....                                                                                                                                                             Remember when you bought a new pair of boots with the high heel  ?     hah ha ha,  still not up to it were yu   Ha ha   only wore em one night eh ?.                           And what about when trouble started kb,  you would slide off your stool and slime out the backdoor,  not that we expected anything from you but you were gone, zing........ha ha we reckoned you ran all the way home running from shadow to shadow.......

I can remember one night, you had only been there a short time when one of the girls came and said you were swearing and being your normal odnoxious self.     I just strolled over and stood next to you,  not another word out of you was there ?  You loudmouth halfman.

When I rediscovered you a few mths ago I could not believe you were still alive but moreso that you are still just as obnoxious, and still hiding in the cupboard.

Yep, you are still a blight on society, and I am still that mean looking giant that used to scare the crap out of you.

Cheers............Scull

Hilarious!!!!! Too funny. Now that explains everything. Thank you for sharing.

i feel better now! a good chuckle, I wonder if billy is really a pschychologist? he reads idiots well.

This is better than 'The Bold and the Beautiful"

More like the "Young and the Restless" now the "Old and the Decrepid" :)

More like an episode of lunitics rejoice

I always thought I'd loathe retirement but soon adjusted... itwas great not having to set the alarm and sleep until 7 am if I chose... and staying up till all hours just chatting to folks on international forums or watching tv etc.. times never wasted if you enjoy what you're doing.. whether it's being busy or just sittin' n' lookin'

Life is mainly froth and bubble,

Two things stand like stone,

Courage in anothers' troubles,

Kindness in your own...

With the legislation introduced by the Labor Party whilst in Government increasing the retirement age to 67

How is this going to affect the upcoming pensioners ?

http://www.dss.gov.au/our-responsibilities/seniors/benefits-payments/age-pension

How will they cope on Newstart Allowance with Agism going rife and no employment for the Seniors ?

Thee 66 year old will cope the same way as the unemployed 64 year old copes to-day.

Many I know would not work before retirement so there is no hope of them working after.

But they were getting paid a good salary no Newstart

Abby, the ones that were fortunate enough to be able to earn a good salary will just earn it for another 2 years.

If I'd known how good retirement is, I may have retired sooner, the secret is being involved with others, after years of golf, is now snooker with old friends, great.
