Major supermarket changing its opening hours
Woolworths is changing its trading hours.
The supermarket giant has announced it will change its opening and closing hours to align across Australia and shorten the deli, seafood and meat counter trading hours.
The opening hours across Australia will now be 7am to 9pm and the fresh deli will trade from 7am to 8pm. The seafood and meat counters will trade from 9.30am-7pm on weekdays and 9am-7pm on weekends.
Sinage should be at all front doors and service desks outlining the new hours if it affects your store.
A Woolworths spokesperson said the changes were made due to a “shift in customer behaviour”.
I don’t know about you, but I gave up trying for service at these counters after 6pm years ago and it’s hard enough to even get someone to put you through a register if you have a full trolley after that time as well.
It sounds like every time a bank announces an ‘improvement’ that only benefits the bank.
I do think having standard hours throughout the whole of Australia is a good thing. I also appreciate that the people working in the deli and the seafood/fresh meat sections need time to finish up at night. No matter what the reason is for the change of trading hours and services, I'm sure it's not to cater for the public's needs but for the benefit of Woolworths Corporation itself. Jacka.
