woman who dumped cat charged

Seggie. That English woman who dumped the cat in the bin for many hours has been charged. What's the bet she'll get off with a slap on the wrist or a few hours of community work?
Is there anyone out there who believes as I do, an eye for an eye. I'd like to dump her in
a bin for the same amount of time. No water, no food, no fresh air. I'd feel the same way if
she'd dumped a dog too.

I believe all punishment should fit the crime--especially for animals

^5 Seggie I am with you. Dump her in a bin same time as the poor little cat

no food no water no toilet very little air.

Oh and drop her from a height at that.

Still cold and wet here and I have had my hair cut today - was cold

coming out of that salon. Home now nice and warm and

going to have a lazy afternoon ;-)

Quite right she should be charged, but not drawn and quartered.

possibly she may just get off with a small fine {should be a large one}

How often do we see 'horrible', crimes committed against the elderly

or anyone and get off with a slap on the wrist.

What about the women who gave birth on a plane, put the baby

in a bag and dumped it in a garbage bin. If not by luck the baby was

found it would have died,

Is that not worse than giving a cat one great scare.

Seggie. Ooops, sorry, Seth. I had clean forgotten about the poor baby that was dumped. Of course it is far worse than putting a cat in a garbage bin but put it down to my old age, Seth as truthfully, I had forgotten. You have pulled me up and good on you. You can slap me on the wrists if you like! Truly, I am a kind old soul and hopefully don't have a nasty bone in my body.

Seggie friends can always differ , and no offence taken,

I agree dumping the cat like she did was terrible but put

it in perspective against what is going on today and she

does deserve retribution, but not to be dismembered.

Also seggie being a young man, I bow to your elder status.

I must have some nasty bones in my body I suppose

as I say she should be "drawn and quartered"

now that sounded like a wonderful idea to me.

Phyl. thinking on that happy thought..............:)

fwed ponders ...... don't hurt a cat ... well not when Phyl is near :ohh:

=^;^=

Just watched on TV. some monster abandoning his sick dog,

the poor dog looked lost when it's owner drove off leaving it.

now this is someone who needs a jail term.

the dog is now recovered and being looked after.

A dog is definitely a man's best friend,

Who else would come bounding towards you, wagging his tail,

jump all over you, pee on you if it gets too excited.

Come home covered in mud and still welcomes you..

I do not believe every person's best friend is a dog. Dogs are good company but

many love their cats and in fact many Seniors can only afford a bird and to

them their bird is a very good friend to them.

All animals are equal and should be treated with respect. Would kfchugo

start on about they have to earn respect?

Any person ill treats any animal or living creature deserves jail.

Seems you do not respect cats Seth. Many probably do not respect you either.

My nickname prompts me to wonder why this thread is in the "Recipe" section........ are we contemplating Kentuckey Fried C.....

:-P

I had a wonderful cat called Topaz who did all of the above.

In fact he would even fetch like a dog if he was in the mood.

I used to throw his favorite toy and he would bring it back to me.

He would play "Hide and Seek" we took turns hiding and seeking

Topaz could also" talk" he could tell me what he wanted.

Topaz is now in cat heaven.

Any pet has the ability to do something to our souls Zapot. One of the

reasons I have been a little testy of late is because I lost my 12 year

old Corgi a few months ago & we have just lost our feral that we took in

8 years ago. I actually had him to the stage where he would sometimes

sit on my lap for 4 or 5 minutes then jump down without taking a piece out

of me.

I dont care if this is the wrong thread. I love & miss my true little friends.

Yaretzi I so agree every animal is wonderful and people love their

companions and no animal deserves any human to be cruel to them ever.....

.

Topaz sounds like he was one heck of a fantastic cat Zapot

I just love your name what a tribute to Topaz...................:)

.

I am SO sorry your Corgie and Cat have gone over the Rainbow Bridge Innes.

I know you are an animal lover like Peter and I are and of course you miss them.

Animals mean more to me than a lot of humans and we miss every animal we have had

also, as each was unique.

.

kfchugo >:(

I can understand how people love their pets, cats as well as they purr when patted and can be great company.

But how many people treat their cats properly ?

Cats are natural predators and do cause harm to our wildlife.

A well fed cat will still kill without the need to eat it's prey.

Do cat owners know that it is not good to feed their pet uncooked meat ?

Some cats are carriers of toxoplasmosis.

Toxoplasmosis infects humans, livestock, birds etc., however cats are the definitive hosts to toxoplasma gondii. This means that the parasite is only able to sexually reproduce in cats.

Oocysts are passed in the cat's faeces. They become infective after approximately 2-5 days.

When a cat ingests an infected prey (or other infected raw meat) the parasite is released into the cat's digestive tract. The organisms then multiply in the wall of the small intestine and produce oocysts. These oocysts are then excreted in great numbers in the cat's faeces.. Cats previously unexposed to T. gondii will usually begin shedding oocysts between three and 10 days after ingestion of infected tissue, and continue shedding for around 10 to 14 days, during which time many millions of oocysts may be produced. Oocysts are very resistant and may survive in the environment for well over a year.

A cat can have toxoplasmosis without showing any symptoms and can live a normal life.

If an infected cat goes to the toilet outside on the grass and sometime within the next 12 months a kangaroo comes along and eats that grass and becomes infected, then that kangaroo will have a slow painful death usually after about 7 days and after going blind.

Some of our native animals which die via toxoplasmosis are Bandicoots , Dunnarts, Bilbies , Possums , Echidnas ,Wombats, Pademelons, Wallabies, Kangaroos , Koalas and Antechinus.

So 2 important things for cat owners are - do not feed your cat uncooked meat and do not allow the cat outside, especially at night.
