Wobbly's Poll

Coming soon to a place near you.

Thank you Zapot, interesting to see what people think.wobbly

We should perhaps explain the idea behind the poll for viewers who do not read all posts. It came to our attention recently that a new member posted about having a fall followed by a long silence from that member.During a discussion ,we wondered if it would be possible to send Drew or a member of the management team either an email address or phone contact number so management could contact and find out if member is ok. We have all become friends even if we dont always agree with each other on everything and i am sure that like me, we wonder if these people are ok ,if we dont hear from them. As a very large percentage of us live alone ,and not all of us have families that would know to contact Lifechoices should something happen to a member. We could wait a month for example ,then request management to enquire on our behalf to see if, for example that person had in fact passed on or if they had just left the scheme. Either way It would bring some kind of closure instead of just wondering what has happened. Please vote if you think this is a good idea or if you think not needed .We can then approach management and see if this could be done, all information would only be held by managment so privacy would be maintained.Wobbly

I think it is a great idea ,especially for those who are alone in the world

If you have Questions re spelling Fwed ,check with your mate Zapot who kindly put this up for me as I was unsure how to do it, Seems people are not interested but thats ok too. Have a great day.wobbly

Cark it

Australian Slang

to die, cease functioning; collapse.

As per Google.

No need to apologize on your knees fwed

Zapot is a forgiving person.

kark (it) Verb. To die. Also 'cark it'. [Orig. Aust. 1970s]

Zapot, I have even been known to forgive Seth in a silly moment so there is no need for you to grovel.

This can be used of people or of things, as in: "my computer has carked it."

It's not an old word, first recorded in 1977.

The Australian National Dictionary suggests it comes from the mournful cry of the crow - a carrion bird.

And from 1936 there are descriptions of crows carking (or cawing) as they feed on a dead carcase.

cark

Variation cark it

Definition

verb Australian

to die. The origin of the word is obscure; it may be a deformation of croak or of cack. Like other items of current Australian slang, the word has been introduced to Britain via TV soap operas.

Citation ‘They break down in the middle of nowhere and before you know it they’ve carked it.’ (Recorded, Australian visitor, London, 1988)

This is all Wobbly's and Seth's fault fwed A bloke tries to

help someone out and all hell breaks lose.

This can be used of people or of things, as in: "my computer has carked it."

Zapot, I am sorry to hear your computer has karked it

Sorry Zapot , not sure why it is my fault that you guys are having a discusion on dying , but its ok you can blame me! I fail to see where Seth comes into the blame game though as he has been locked in the shed for over a week so has not had his pennies worth of this topic. Wobbly.
