Who do we vote on the next elections ???

Is time for us to start thinking very hard ..... Who do we vote to make this country better like use to be or at least to start making changes that make sense for us and future generations .... great problem

We do not have any politician that will be capable to make drastic changes because they all looking after themself and no the Country.

Have a look at this report from Sky News ...... is a clear definition of our political disaster we have and continue having if we do not have a serious thinking and take drastic actions

Is Time now to think about our country and the people and this report will ilustrate the mess we are at the moment and if we do not do something we will be like another Venezuela .......

Watch the report and think for our country and our people .....

I am not changing "horses in mid stream".  Labor itching to get back into office and to start spending like there is no tomorrow.  Raising wages that many small businesses cannot afford is lunacy.

Agree ardnher.

Too much of this wealth redistribution nonsense will drive us into a cul de sac.

We now have stay at home mums on $100,000pa.

It isnt working in Finland where past and present governments have been trying to raise the retirement age to 73.

Only industry creates wealth.

Wealth is needed for social services and infrastructure. Therefor we need fairness in the way we handle the growth of industry. We cannot afford to have a nasty government which takes every opportunity to espouse their hatred for industry. Simple as that.

The only safe bet is LNP

will have a surplus budget this year and it’s the only fiscally responsible party

think of our future generations

labor will sell them out to get into power

It will be sad for those that tried to provide for themselves in Retirement, if Labor get in with their Ageist policies.

However the outcome will be worse if one of the major parties is unable to govern in their own right.

In my opinion, the voting results should be first past the post and not the allow the polllies make deals on the sides.

I have a friend who likes to say that it doesn't really matter who you vote for, you still end up with a politician.  :)

You're not helping Leonie. We are getting desperate. Bill Shorten is measuring up for new curtains.

Plus the CFMMEU gave Labor $1m of members fees for their campaign. They are cashed up.

Your friend is dead right Leonie

If he were dead then I'm sure he would not be saying such stuff.

"It will be sad for those that tried to provide for themselves in Retirement, if Labor get in with their Ageist policies."

Which ageist policies??

Just something to remember about the Liberal party .... maybe some of you remember ...these was the trigger of all the hate people have for other's in Australia (The old White Australian Policy ???? still a hidden agenda on the Lib's ????) .... so vote for them in my book is totally out of the question ....

I never vote for them and I never will ..... At the moment I have nobody I trust with my vote ?????

They will all promise anything to get the vote -- then it all changes once they get in -- look at Abbott he broke every promise he made -- and continues to lie to this day

heard today that the idiot Greens want to reduce Defence spending and give it it away in Foreign Aid and they also want to stop ALL coal exports...one of our biggest earners for this country.  also want 100% renewables!!!!!!!!!!  people cannot afford their utility bills NOW!!

just cannot understand their ideology at all...crazy people!

In 2007 I read most of what the Greens had on their website. Their Climate Change Policy was to lobby for coal to have increased taxes on an upward sliding scale until their businesses became unviable and needed to shut down. This policy of course needed to be hidden from us when Bob Brown and Julia Gillard forged an alliance to get them both elected. Their hatred for industry and a strong economy is nothing new.

There is something you are missing. Point 1, at least the greens don't get mining donations to fight for a cause, liket pushing more coal mines and power stations like the major parties.

Point 2, why not hit the 69 businesses that pay no tax and leave us poor alone who are doing the right thing by stating what interest we earn in the little we can put away. We aren't ripping off the system like one I could name, my neighbour! He just shows a certificate that he not medically able to work, yet he is by working on peoples cars, changing tyres, gearboxes and engine repairs. Yes, he was dobbed in by one of their friends, yet he produced that damn certificate and the investigation didn't go any further by Centrelink.

You'r safe as long as you don't vote Calamity Jane in. Mind you she does make one good point in her entire career when she said:  "It is about the CFMEU, who are throwing their weight around this country and destroying jobs and who think they can go onto building sites with their bullying and their thuggery." But can we believe anything she says?

Yup, look what those CFMEU ignorant thugs did to eggboy. Sick lot :(

So many naive and gullible people who still believe that this or that Political Party is really going to solve the morass that Australia is getting deeper and deeper in ...

If you cannot see this plain and evident fact you probably need to see your eye specialist at the earliest opportunity

The RICH AND POWERFUL aided by whatever political party happens to be in power at the time PISS on us and the MEDIA owned by the same RICH AND POWERFUL tell us "It's raining" ....

For God's sake ... WAKE UP AUSTRALIA ...

Look at what each party is offering

, pick the one that will do you the least harm and vote for them.

ex PS,

That is how I also vote ... and sometimes it is difficult to decide which party will do the least damage.

No member of parliament is a visionary, leader, or statesman.  They are all very mediocre.  One wonders if they enter parliament because their original careers offer such little satisfaction, due to their general ineptness.

Australia has such promise ... so much going for it.  But none to lead the country to any greatness.

Our top scientists have to go abroad to see their skills developed.  An academic observed that we have the best engineers in the world ... however ...  Just two examples among many ...

We have far too many politicians, Federal, State and also local governments. This country does not need so many.  Far, far less.

When seeking information, politicians go to experts.

Better, we employed those experts ... experts with the most experience in Housing, Health, Transport, etc.

Better we have far fewer politicians ... and only those demonstrating vision, statesmenship and leadership qualities.

I believe a meritocracy would serve Australia better.

Twila, a system of government based on merit, what a paradise we would have. It seems our government is based on the same structure as a lot of companies, layers of management and middle management and lower management that have littte to do but micro manage people who are quite capable of doing the job at hand without interference from unquailfied hangers on, who are only interested on the optics of a result and how they can take the most amount of credit for themselves and their party with the least amount of effort.

How sad that politics is based on the image of doing well and not actual results.  I would take your comment one step further and say that when seeking information, politicians go to experts and carefully extract only the information that will serve their personal agenda, anything that does not is disregarded.  We could easily lose one tier of government, the big question is, which one.

I have often thought that politicians should be held accountable by having annual surveys on performance, the people should be able to rate politicians/Ministers by comparing performance against their campaign promisses and if they do not meet  a predetermined standard they should be made to step aside and turn the job over to someone else.  In Industry a Manager won't get away with under performance for three or four years, why should the people we pay get away with it?

I beleive ourbiggest problem is people voting along tribal lines istaed of thinkig about who will best suit the needs of the country, if just a little thought went into performance rather than personality we would be much better off.

It's everyone's duty to vote. All parties will do harm at some point, so that does not seem a good enough reason to favour any particular party. My opinion: vote for the candidate whose beliefs and values compare well with your own. Most importantly, do not be swayed by those who think they "know" - they do not!
