Where was the help?

The news that a 92-year-old woman who is believed to have murdered her 98-year-old husband will have been met with many different responses. But surely one question needs answered, where was the support for them both?

The woman in question is apparently suffering from severe dementia and unable to recall anything of what had occurred between herself and her husband. How can two such elderly people be expected to deal with an illness such as dementia without someone assessing the risks to them both? It also raises the question, how many other elderly people are suffering with dementia and don’t have access to support?

What do you think? Is this a simple tragedy or could it have been prevented?

Surely their Dr knew of her and his condition and could have made some suggestions?
