Where is everybody?

I recently sent a P.M. and looked up the list of members. Surprisingly, there were over 500 PAGES with 20 members per page - thats OVER 10,000 members.
When we look at the "Meeting Place" we see about 20 people posting on a regular basis and I am surprised that so many members choose not to use the facility. Could I suggest that admin consider sending a monthly email to all members highlighting the major/interesting issues discussed and inviting members to check it out and contribute. Emails are free and it should not be a major administrative burden to type one email and broadcast to all members. I receive such emails from other forums that I contribute to and find them useful.....and if they are not, they can easily be deleted. The current monthly email mentions the meeting place, but it may be "swallowed up" and not noticed by many. Would a specific "Meeting place" email prompt greater interest?
If anyone else has helpful suggestions to improve the site or member participation, it can only benefit all members and make our site more vibrant, interesting and informative.
I invite discussion/ suggestions........

Fwed.

Nice sentiments.

Apricots, haven't tasted like apricots for quite a few years now Phyl. They look the part, they smell the part, but taste like cardboard. I got some lovely yellow peaches the other day - tasted good and really dripped the flavour down my chin. The white peaches are a different story - don't taste like peaches at all.

I agree that most fruit doesn't taste the same as it once used to--Tomatoes are awful and don't seem to have any taste--even the ones that my friend gives me that are hme grown--maybe it is the seeds they buy now? I agree that the Apricots have been very tasteless
