What you need to know about condoms

With sexually transmitted diseases moving stiffly higher, the Government’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has jumped into bed with Durex to issue a warning about the correct use of condoms.

A batch of Durex Real Feel condoms was recently recalled because they were bursting before their expiry date.

“This has prompted a reminder about the safe use of condoms, including making sure you're aware of the expiry date,” TGA said.

“Condoms are important because they help protect against sexually transmissible infections.

“The correct use of a condom helps prevent the transmission of disease, some of which are serious, such as HIV.

“As a product ages, it has a higher potential to fail, so it is important to always check the use-by date before using a condom and make sure you know how to use a condom correctly.”

Durex Real Feel condoms from batch 1000432443 (expiry January 2021) should not be used. For more recall details, click here.

If you were to be sexually active outside a primary relationship, would you insist on condoms being used?

Great topic!!! Condom machines should be installed in retirement homes, they're throwing caution to the wind in there, getting into sex, heavy metal and ginger beer. Condoms should also have a very long expiry date because by the time some of the guys get it on, it's expired!!!

and if used will they also be included on your 'My Health Record'?

More paranoia? Oh well :-)

ROFL

And if you are not going to use them and you have a new partner (or play away from home) then get tested regularly for STIs and get treated if the result is positive.

Nothing like the smell of burning rubber.

You learn something new every day, pity this info was about 60 years too late for me.
