What was Burt Reynolds' biggest regret?

Octogenarian actor Burt Reynolds has admitted his biggest regret from his longstanding career – and it's not breaking up with Sally Field, as many would suspect.

Giving an interview to promote a documentary called The Bandit, which tells the story behind the making of his 1977 hit flick Smokey and the Bandit, Reynolds admitted that this photographic faux pas for Cosmopolitan magazine was the one thing he wished he never did.

“It was really stupid. I don’t know what I was thinking,” Mr Reynolds said of his photo shoot. “I really wish I hadn’t done that.”

I have to be truthful, I was totally zonkered when I did the picture,” he continued. “That stupid smile, that’s what it is, you know.”

The centrefold photo, taken when Reynolds was 36, sees him smoking a cigarette whilst spread out sans-clothes along a bearskin rug. The issue in which it appeared sold 1.5 million copies. So even though Burt may have regretted it, it certainly did him no disservice in assisting his rising star at the time...

At least Burt made money from his 'faux pas'.

How many of us wish we could go back and change a few things we have done, and in fact 'lost money' in choices we have made.

I would have thought his one regret was all that awful plastic surgery!

Poor bear.

Biddi, I agree.  People are so obsessed with people and their silly problems - the poor bear in the photo shoot was the one that really suffered.

Anyone thinks he looks good? I think he looks like the bear's son!

Marrying Judy Carne wasn't a real success story either.
