WHAT MAKE YOU CHUCKLE

Hi all

I'm new to this forum but happy to be here. I hope you take this as the fun I think we can have.
I thought I might see who giggles at the "silliness" we see on TV etc daily

My example: SBS Global Village. Silvio Rivier (a nice man I'm sure) claims to have covered hundreds of countries and languages.

BUT - everytime he pronounces a place or persons name he applies his accent/pronounciation.
Not statistically possible.
I once had an atlas out (in advance based on the green guide listing) to look up where he was describing but couldn't understand what he said so I couldn't look it up. (To my ears it was mumble)

No I'm not bitter and twisted, just amused.

Tennessee mechanical engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.

"We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole," said Bubba, "but we don't have a ladder."

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down.

Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement,

announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches," and walked away.

Ray shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a woman? We ask for the height and she gives us the length!"

Bubba and Ray are currently working for the government.

Like a lot of husbands throughout history, Webster would sit down and try to talk to his wife.

But as soon as he would start to say something, his wife said, "And what's that supposed to mean?"

Thus, Webster's Dictionary was born.

Yep, they make me chuckle too.

Thanks for adding your little bit of fun.

The more the merrier.
