What is the world coming to?

The court in the US has upheld the murder convictionc against a vegan Atlanta couple who let their six-week old baby starve to death, raising himon a diet of apple juice and soy milk.

Jade Sanders and Lamont Thomas, both in their twenties, took their baby Crown Shakur, who weighed just 1.6kg, to Piedmont Hospital on April 24, 2005, after he began to have trouble breathing.

A SIX-year-old boy placed in the care of a lesbian foster couple was dressed in girl's clothes and the humiliating pictures were posted on the couple's Facebook page.

One of the women was preparing for a sex change to become a man at the time, while her girlfriend was undergoing fertility treatment.

The boy and his 12-year-old sister have since been moved but former Children's Court magistrate Barbara Holborow yesterday called for a full inquiry into the decision to put them there. "Oh my God, what are we doing?" Ms Holborow, who has fostered eight children, said.

i really dont know what to say nautilus im sitting here shaking my head. how do people do things like this,im.. im.. god what to do with them, how does a rational "normal"thinking human being feed a 6 week old on soy and juice and believe its ok????i dont understand...and the couple with the 6 year old i think Ms Holborow said it best"what are we doing"

Seggie.  I know what I'd do.

YAY!!!!! seggie welcome back, how is your hand?.....and yes id be right beside you doing it too....

Make it a trio, sadly  morons walk among us

Welcome back Seggie, you have been missed. I think the Department of Childrens Services who are supposed to be there for the protection of children need to have a complete investigation .Whoever placed this child and his sister should be sacked and the department held accountable. The case of the starved baby speaks to me more of ignorance and stupidity , surely this couple had people around like parents who could have intervened , and arent all births followed up by nurses after the child goes home ,in my day in this country this happened . Barbara Holborow is a genuinely caring advocate for children and should be placed in charge of the Department of Childrens Services or at the very least have her opinion sought on who should be running this department and how. Wobbly

Personally I believe it is the outcome of years of dumbing down the population to make us all blindly follow the leaders and at the same time lowering morals and ethics which has led to no one having common sense in young generations = shows up in teen binge drinking & suicide rates - road rage in under 35's and many other things.

Not to mention  the outrageous abuse of our precious children - when a mum caught smacking a backside will be taken to court  Courtesy of the United Nations Treaty of the rights of the child - which along with the 1951 Refugee Convention putting incoming alien ideologies above our own - is part of the plan to get us all to cry out for a return to law and order and good governance which will then come from One World Government planned by all the above.

No end to the horrors being visited on us.

Animals are being killed cruelly because the international left wing lawyers have won over the government  to their view that inflicting pain on dumb animals simply is not worth their consideration - instead of our own previous compassionate rule which was that of mandatory stunning - so the poor creature does not suffer terror seeing his death approaching  nor feel the pain inflicted. 12 abattoirs here have exemption not to stun as they are halal producers of meat.

BTW still time to email your Labor MP to stop this and insist on mandatory stunning before death on all animals here and overseas instead of letting them get away with it.

If we cant treat animals with compassion - no wonder our children are suffering whilst at the same time they the left pay lip service to not abusing them - they let it continue with 'inept childrens services' placing children in bad homes or leaving them etc.

We Seniors have managed to live through the time following WW2 when all discoveries improved our lot and living standards whilst we worked and paid our taxes - we had much to look forward too even though 'the bomb' hung over us - we felt looked after and protected by our elected government.

Today  - I feel they are more intent on pleasing the rest of the international groups for their own career outcomes as being known as a world leader than what happens to us back home as the left strip away our protections.

They are letting in too much to allow us to be able to support our selves with food and manufacturing and for future jobs once the mining boom dies down etc.

Listening to all the talk of non protectionism when foreign governments pay lip service but DO protect their own industries and agriculture! Our governments are all it seems naive to not see the way it is!

Just a few items lately - Apples into Australia  with blight from New Zealand and like all other imports randomly checked - contaminated milk from China - along with contaminated food and vegetable produce from China - chickens and pigs from other countries damaging to our own industries etc -

And of course the young mums who feed their babies on these inferior foods saying cheaper and care not if it damages the health of the child - no common sense there at all - once our health is damaged hard to get it back and costly too trying.

We need some hope - don't you feel the same - I do at times but cant let it get me down - I just think - we will wake up and stop it before it is too late but then wonder - hope it is not already too late.

Far too many folk now saying what on earth will our future great grand kids and theirs think of us for allowing this mess to develop let alone continue!

Hear hear Big Val--I agree with all you said !!

BigVal you have a big heart and maybe that is a more suitable nick.  It is the way I was thinking of you as I read what you wrote.

There are heaps of good people out there, never you fear.

Pru Goward is the head honcho, the Minister for Families and she is supposed to be held accountable under the Westminster system of governemnt we hold dear.

However Goward is taking the slimy politician's way out - by standing back and pretending to look shocked and saying that she will ask questions. She still steps up to take the pay as minister, she is first in for credit and she is a great critic of anyone who criticises her policies.  Just another self-congratulating, egocentric career politician with contacts who could never be accountable herself.  Here she is,

Seggie.  Hand not the best biut I am managing. You'll have to pa rdon errors. Brain works thank goodness. So frustrating.  I cannot belie ve that no one noticed this poor little baby but parents such as the dear little soul had pro bably kept away from everyone. When I think of folk who would love a babe to cherish and these parents starve this babe, I could not type what  I'd do to them.  I was brought up to be Christian but my thoughts are anything but Christian.

On another thing. Tryng to grow own vegies., heard that seeds are treated by chemicals so does that make them harmful or what. Sprays, chemicals, how did our ancestors manage withou t.  Is the reason there are so many allergies now due to all the additives in f ood?  As a youngster, no one I knew ever had an allergy, certiainly not to peanuts. We ate them as they were ch eap in their shells. All we ever got were mumps, measles, whooping cough and so on and so on.  We drank water from a creek and sorry, Taddy, we used to collect tadpoles, put them in a bowl but always with a rock so they cou'd climb out. Didn't we love the simple ways? We were better off being poor. Much much better and happier too.

Heavens I've gone all longwinded. Sorry folks. Love to all.

Nautilus I agree it is a totally different country now.

At one time you really thought politicians were there

for the good of the country, instead of their own

ambitions, where they don't seem to have their own

beliefs but do as ther're told by their leader, this

applies to both sides of politics. I tend to feel that

no matter who governs, you get the same bull, under

another name.

seth,

Well said, a pox on all of their houses I say and for the reasons you outlined.

I'd still like to see politicians being made accountable, even if the only way most can do that is by regularly changing the government so they don't get their inevitable corruption too well established.

Also, I'd like to bring politicians' retirement benefits into line with everyone else to discourage some of these party types and hangers-on from putting their hands up.  There are young retired politicians on the gravy train for life and Bill O'Chee and the forever pouting, single issue Natasha Despoja are two of them.

The perks they get is atrocious, All the ex PMs

alone must be costing a fortune, they got the

bullet for heaven's sake and end up receiving

a fortune plus an office etc. An ordinary person

gets the bullet they're lucky to get anything.!!

The cost of ex premiers as well as run of the mill poiticians.

It would need a mass rising of the people to change

it to match normal people,

The screams coming from parlaiment would out do

anything we have heard.
