What is Russia up to?

Putin splits NATO and cuts out Biden: Russian president agrees to hold talks with Germany, France and Ukraine as squabbling NATO countries fail to decide joint troop deployment and Joe says he'll go it alone

Putin agrees to hold talks with Germany, France and Ukraine as NATO squabbles

The blow to NATO and exclusion of America in negotiation talks on the Russian-Ukraine crisis came after Vladimir Putin accused the U.S. and NATO of ignoring the Kremlin's 'fundamental concerns' over NATO's growth during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday. Rather than meet with NATO, Putin has agreed to discuss the issue with the European-led Normandy Format, a grouping that includes France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia. Their meetings center on the cease-fire agreement that the countries brokered in eastern Ukraine in 2015, and it also offers a path to a broader settlement. Putin said he had 'no offensive plans' in eastern Ukraine, according to Macron, who said the nations' talks would focus on 'de-escalation' along the Ukraine-Russian border. Although the talks raise hopes for peace, it undermines America's involvement by excluding the U.S, and NATO as Ukrainian officials said they were annoyed by Joe Biden's (right inset) vow to mobilize troops in the area without NATO's backing. NATO has failed to come up with a common position on deploying troops to the region with many of its 30-strong members against military action (left inset).

Murderers and Thieves!

Russian ships 'load up with stolen Ukrainian grain' in satellite images - amid warnings Europe faces 'huge migration problem' from Africa as Putin weaponizes food supplies

Russian ships 'load up with stolen Ukrainian grain' amid warnings of 'huge migration

Aerial photos taken of the Crimean port of Sevastopol shows two Russian-flagged carrier ships docking and loading next to huge silos. The photos, taken by Maxar Technologies this month, show the Matros Pozynich and the Matros Koshka at the port as the silos pour the food off a belt into an open hold. Both ships have now left the port. While the grain transport has not been confirmed, Crimea produces little grain itself compared to Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, regions which are largely under Russian control. mVolodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of 'gradually stealing' food supplies, despite many in Ukraine starving and fears of a global famine as a result of the shortages. There are fears that such a crisis could cause another migration wave as Africans desperately try to move to Europe to escape the dwindling supplies.

Russia edges closer to first debt default since Bolshevik Revolution as US cuts off its ability to pay its creditors

The US Treasury Department will cut off Russia's ability to pay its foreign debts at midnight tonight, making a sovereign debt default all but inevitable in the latest economic blow to Putin.

Russia's army could COLLAPSE amid huge losses of more than 30,000 troops - which Putin believes is a 'price worth paying' for victory in Ukraine, confidential UK report says

Latest estimates from the Ukraine's Armed Forces (pictured top-inset) suggest as many as 30,350 Russian soldiers have been killed since Vladimir Putin launched his invasion on February 24. In addition, several thousand Russian military vehicles have been destroyed in Putin's so-called 'special military operation' that has dragged into its fourth month. According to The Mirror, a new report suggests Kremlin officials have tried and failed to persuade the Russian strongman that his invasion has been a disaster, and that he believes he can still achieve a partial victory in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine. A victory in the region would give Russia leverage over Kyiv, the report says, while defeat would likely result in Putin being ousted. Meanwhile, Russian troops pushed farther into a key eastern Ukrainian city and fought street by street with Kyiv's forces Monday in a battle the mayor said has left the city 'completely ruined' and driven tens of thousands from their homes. On Monday, military analysts painted the battle as part of a race against time for the Kremlin, which they said wants to complete its capture of the industrial Donbas region before more Western arms arrive to bolster Ukraine's defences. Now Russia threatens POLAND: Putin claims to have 'killed 80 Polish fighters' in east Ukraine and removes flag from memorial to WW2 Poles killed by Soviet Union amid fresh tensions mount over Kaliningrad enclave

Now Russia threatens Poland: Putin kills 80 Polish fighters in 'precision strikes' in east

Tensions between Russia and NATO member Poland have been cranking up to boiling point in recent days amid Russian claims that it has killed 'up to 80 Polish mercenaries' in missile strikes. The reported losses come on the same day that Russia confirmed it has removed a Polish flag from a memorial commemorating the murder of thousands of Poles by the Soviet Union in 1940. To the north, Moscow has been furious over Lithuania's blocking of EU-sanctioned goods from reaching the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, sandwiched between the Baltic state and Poland. This has prompted Poland to call on NATO to further bolster its security presence in the Suwalki Gap, the narrow corridor of territory that connects the three Baltic states to the rest of their NATO allies and separates Kaliningrad from Russian ally Belarus.
