What are you having for lunch today?

I just took some fish fingers out of the freezer and will put them into our little toaster oven (very economical to run and even cooks a small roast beautifully) We will just have some (out of the freezer again) dinner rolls with the fish fingers on and a bit of tartare sauce. The Toaster Oven has to be one of the best things we have bought cheap to run and easier than lighting up the big oven as I even cook a cake often in it and everything comes out perfect. Just remember to buy the bit bigger one as the little one would not take a higher dish.
The very new ones even have a hot plate on top. Will buy that one when this one dies >:
I know some people enjoy using the big heavy glass turbo sits on the bench cooker. I bought one and tried it once and took it back as was not all that impressed as having to lift it into the sink often makes for easy cracking the glass against the tap and it is heavy and awkward I found but whatever suits an individual (or keeps your husband happy) is the go hey? lol.

Just watching old re-runs of "On The Buses and Are You Being Served" just love the old English Comedies. I enjoy Captain Peacock in "Last Of The Summer Wine" and as he is over 80 years of age now and this show is up to date I think he is great.
Enjoy today 10th. June 2009 as we will not be given another chance as at midnight tonight it will all be gone.

welcome back Phyl

And because you are blessed with a wonderful wife (puts up with you) oops did I say that? just joking but especially because you are lucky enough to have cats allow you to be their hand servant today is a wonderful day for you Mr. Innes.:)

HI Phyl, Your little stove / toaster sounds quite good--I am at the moment using the Turbo cooker--I do like the way it cooks chicken--(I am VERY fussy about cooking chicken) nice and crispy--however I do agree with yu that they are rather awkward to lift and handle--and very heavy

Yesterday it was such a nice sunny day here for the first time in days, hubby and I and the dog went down to a seaside cafe, sat in the sunshine and had fish and chips while watching the boats sailing on the water.

Took the dog for a walk on the sand, where he rolled in all the seaweed, then home.

Lovely outing. Simple but enjoyable.

Was a bit cold here yesterday and a nasrt NW wind--so I stayed inside with the Air con on--

I agree Sandikay days like that are terrific.

Thank you for the nice welcome. I am a lot better now thank you.

Dosn't a dog make you get out and go for a walk. I think dogs wouod have to be good for everyone to own especially an older person.

If it is needed in people's areas and they want to have a dog to walk and care for maybe the Blind dogs Association would be grateful for walkers/carers for a year? I am sure it would be difficult letting the dog go when the time came but what a great thing to do to feel we are helping someone.

Seniors time is the best time as long as we can keep our health. Many things we can do and stay happy. Today is going to be wonderful.

I am with you Jane some days that is what we feel like doing and the air conditioning is wonderful. Only use it on real coldies.

Although Hot Fish and Chips is a nice incentive to rug up and go walking on the sand. We used to live where we could do that often, but no sand here er but there are great shops lol.

Watched the snow all over the burnt out areas of Marysville on tele. Did feel sorry for the girl still in a tent after the fires on such cold nights.

Oh no we are all off topic. Does it matter? nah lol

Plenty of nice beaches here Phyl--the weather here has been cold (for here) 14 and looks like most of the coming week is not about to get much over maybe 18 in a few days--18 isn't too bad--if there isn't a cold wind

Hi Phyl,

Shocked to read that there are people living in tents after the fires. There has been no mention of it on the news in QLD. Can you tell me what is on your news about the aftermath of the fires.

Charlee.

Hi Charlee. It is true many people living in tents and small caravans and sheds still, because building their homes has not even started.

I cannot really comment on why things have not moved more quickly, but many many people who have donated think it is very slow going. One young woman had thick snow all over the roof of her tent shown on tele. and was trying to push it off with a broom and saying it had been a freezing night for her and this is many times over as many people are in the same predicament.

Very eerie to see black burnt out buildings and trees etc. but partly covered in snow now.

All the best.

Hello All.

Sorry I am too late for lunch today.

However Friday evening is heart attack meal time.

You know Fish and Chips washed down with cold Coke!

Best wishes.

Peter J.

SO nice though Peter. Actually I am having darn missed beats and my heart is jumping and going on like crazy and I am just hoping my heart tablets kick in as I was at the heart specialist today and my heart behaved, but for the last 4 hours it has been in bad Arrythmia. Ho hum what to do go to bed and try and forget it's missing beats? or go to hospital?

I detest hospital SO much think I will just go to bed :) My poor Peter husband is much more worried than I am. He keeps taking my Blood Pressure and we both just keep hoping it will settle, so no fish and chips for me. Well not tonight anyway.

I am booked in for an Ecco Cardio. next Wednesday and a Stress test a bit later so I think I will just hang out for these.

I was looking forward to the weekend too lol I will see the weekend I am sure well almost sure :)

Phyl.

Hello Phyl.

I think your husband is right to worry as your heart does not sound right.

However I believe it is not such a big deal these days to fit a device that keeps the heart ticking at the right frequency.

Is that an option for you?

Does gentle walking settle your heart down to an even rhythm?

Anyway good luck at the tests during the week. (Wednesday).

Do you relax more at the weekend?

Best wishes.

Peter.

I am still sitting around hopng it will get back into rythm but it is still crashing and banging and my Peter keeps saying "we had better go to emergency" but I think it is not going to kill me tonight so hanging off going. Maybe in the morning. I have taken another heart regulator and will see how it goes. If I pass out Peter has the case all ready :) At the moment it is beating and missing and keeps missing and beating but still not too bad but if it starts to beat 200 a minute then I will go to hospital. Not to worry whatever will be will be I believe.

Bye for now
