We are in need of people who are about to retire or have recently retired ($50 reward)

Are you or have you been unsure about whether you have enough money to retire? And are you or have you been overwhelmed by the financial products available to provide retirement income? If any of the above apply to you, you are the person we are looking for!

Would you like to be paid $50 (gift voucher) to participate in a focus group of 7 people and share your expectations and experiences with us? If you are, please click the following link to express your interest:

We are four young academics currently conducting research that examines retirement income products. If you are thinking about retirement, or have recently retired, we’d like to hear your thoughts about retirement needs and your views on retirement income sources. Your feedback will help us inform policy discussion on designing a better retirement income product.

YLC and Research Team please remember to list  a weakness of your study as being that your sample excluded a significant proportion of the Australian population. I assume you won’t genetalise your findings to the entire population because the retirement needs of people in the NT, Adelaide, Kalgoorlie, Broome, Port Hedland or the APY lands will probably be different to those of people resident in Sydney or Melbourne.

At least Tassie gets a look in.

Yes, we are aware of this. This focus group exercise is part of a bigger study where later on we will survey a representative sample of Australian population.

Ideally, we want to talk to as many people in different places as possible, but we are constraint for the places listed. If we get more funding, we will go out to talk to more people.

Fingers crossed that we can get enough people for our focus groups, especially from Tas!

But with most Tasmanians being related , it would be a biased sample

Thank you for those participated in our Sydney's focus group.

We are still recruiting participants for Melbourne's session. If you are interested, please let us know.

Thank you.
