Vouchers at Coles

In their current catalogue some really good specials
if things are what you use.
Our good friend Lauren gave great advice re Cranberry juice
being so very good for preventing and even curing bladder infections
and good for men and women to take each day as a precaution......
We bought 6 big bottles Cranberry juice for not much over $3 each
so a really great buy and packets of crumpets and cordial but other
things others may use.
.
We just tore the pages we could use the goods advertised on
out and handed them at the checkout and the girl scanned them
so we saved quite a tidy sum
Great fun so do not just discard the catalogue but look to see on which items
the vouchers are for good savings.
All the best
Phyl.

Thanks muchly Phyl.

I had glanced through the catalogue but did not even notice

those vouchers so I will go out this afternoon and buy bottles

of Cranberry Juice like you did and other things on special. Those

vouchers are great and I completely missed them.

I have the weekend off so off shopping tomorrow.

I do not read the leaflets from the Supermarket either but will

look out for it tomorrow as I need some more Cranberry Juice. This

is a fab. product and I read it is used extensively in hospital for

bladder infections and the best thing for preventing them as discussed.

Yes Phyl, they have had some good specials lately. I make my own Peanut Butter and last week using the voucher I got 750 grms. salted peanuts for $3.00 pkt., They are normally about $7.00 pkt.. I bought 4 packets which will last me for a fair while.

Making your own peanut butter is easy and best of all no nasties in.

That was a great buy Sandi we use a lot of walnuts so would

also like to make some walnut butter along with peanut.

Would appreciate if you have a minute letting us know

which oil to use please? and anything or nothing else goes into the

ground nuts?

All the best - hope things are good with you.

I try not to shop at either, but for years have considered Coles/Woolies to be pretty much equal. However, over the last few months, I have noticed that Coles is decidedly cheaper than Woolies. I suspect that new competitors entering the market are slowly breaking the duopoly and Coles at least, has seen the light and are responding accordingly.

kfc I would buy everything at Aldi but they do not have as many grocery items

as we use darn it and the annoying thing I find many things we can buy

from Aldi one month have disappeared the next and most never to return

staples such as gravy mix and frozen onions and I could name dozens

of products we use all the time and cheaper and better at Aldi

but not always availabe.

Won't stop me shopping there as Aldi saves us heaps every week.

and we like the quality of the products also. We still have to shop at Coles and Woolies.

I agree with you 100%, Phyl..... the "big two" are opening branches all over the place to seduce us with convenience. I try to shop at Aldi, Franklins or IGA, but they are quite a way from me. I tend to stock up on bulk items at Aldi and use Coles/Woolies as a convenience.

My local Coles person/checkout chick said I was only allowed to have one extra at the cheaper price! Maybe I should complain.

That does not seem fair Jorja as there was nothing said there was a limit on the vouchers

was there...

We bought 6 bottles of Cranberry Juice and 6 packets of crumpets.

I hope they keep it up so will be checking next week to see if they have

the vouchers. Of course only good if things a person uses.

Like a couple of the posters I only glanced through the catalogue

when it came to the house so only because the girl handing

out catalogues said "Do not forget to check the Vouchers inside"

I looked properly.

All the best.

Hi Phyl, Sorry haven't been on here since yesterday so didn't see your question re Peanut Butter.

If I use unsalted peanuts I just add salt to taste & peanut oil. Grind the peanuts (in a food processor or vitamiser ) and add peanut oil to the consistency you like. Remember that you aren't adding any preservative other than the salt so keeps for about 3 weeks in the fridge. When using salted peanuts I wash the salt off half of the volume and just use half salted ones. You can use any oil you want but I prefer the peanut oil.

Just add the oil as you need it as some peanuts are oilier than others. Also it thickens up when you put it in the fridge

If you want crunchy paste just process some nuts to the consistency you like and hand stir them in after processing the others.

750 grams of peanuts makes about 2 1/2 500 gram jars peanut paste.

Thanks Sandi. We have just had fresh Peanut and Walnut Butter

on toast for brekky. I had bought the peanuts and always have walnuts.

No Peanut Oil but will buy some more so used drop by drop of Walnut

oil and not much at that as the walnuts themselves are oily and the

salt was just enough in the peanuts for us (we like our salt) as brought up on salt :)

but not over salting of course as not good for the blood pressure.

Trully lovely. Great to be able to make such a small amount and keep having

the spread SO fresh. I just use my little Bullett processor.

Thanks again

Phyl.
