Victoria will get a chance to see how well the NSW experiment goes. If NSW reopening goes well then there is a good reason to anticipate Vic reopen plan might be accelerated. Not that it will ever be quick enough for those with no accountability for the hospital system who say reopen now and let fate take its course.

Their discovery underlines that there are numerous coronaviruses with the potential to infect people. Samples taken from horseshoe (Rhinolophus) bats in caves in northern Laos contained viruses — named BANAL-52, BANAL-103 and BANAL-236 — that are each more than 95% identical to SARS-CoV-2. “When SARS-CoV-2 was first sequenced, the receptor binding domain didn’t really look like anything we’d seen before,” says virologist Edward Holmes. no doubt some might think that Suze. Of course others might think coronaviruses have been circulating in the area for decades if not hundreds or thousands of years given the relatively low incidence of severe covid in 2019.
