Coronavirus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans': Top vaccine scientist says it could only have come from an animal through a 'freak of nature' - and the possibility it leaked from Wuhan lab MUST be investigated

Scientists have produced evidence that the pandemic virus is 'uniquely adapted to infect humans', raising fresh questions over whether its origins were natural or could have occurred in a laboratory.

NEW SOUTH WALES

Hundreds of NSW children have contracted COVID-19 during the last week. Figures released by NSW Health on Monday afternoon detailed the concerning figures with more cases acquired in young people than those aged over 40. During the past week, 600 children aged between 0 and nine contracted COVID while more than 800 youths aged between 10 and 19 were also infected with the illness. People aged between 20 to 29 had the highest amount of cases this week with almost 1200.

Citing Covid threat, Australian council SHOT SHELTER DOGS dead instead of allowing volunteers to collect them22 Aug, 2021 19:42 Citing Covid threat, Australian council SHOT SHELTER DOGS dead instead of allowing volunteers to collect them A government probe has been launched after officials in New South Wales, Australia, shot and killed shelter dogs that were due to be rescued by volunteers – allegedly in an effort to prevent the volunteers spreading Covid-19.

The dogs, one of which had just given birth to puppies, were housed in a pound in the northwest of the state, and were due to be picked up by volunteers from a Cobar-based animal shelter. However, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on Sunday that workers with the Bourke Shire Council had shot them dead last week.

The council ruled that having the volunteers come and collect the animals would somehow put council employees and the local community, including “vulnerable Aboriginal populations” at risk of catching and spreading Covid-19, the Herald reported, citing the Office of Local Government, the council’s watchdog group. The group is now investigating whether animal cruelty laws were broken by the council.

If they HAD to be put down WHY the hell didn't they get a vet to do it in a more humane way!?

Op-Ed: As a doctor in a COVID unit, I’m running out of compassion for the unvaccinated.

"The burden of this pandemic now rests on the shoulders of the unvaccinated. On those who are eligible to get vaccinated but choose not to, a decision they defend by declaring, “Vaccination is a deeply personal choice.” "

"As a doctor in a COVID unit, I’m running out of compassion for the unvaccinated."

As a citizen ... so am I !!!!

What about those that are Immuno-compromised and can have a bad outcome from the vaccinations!

What about those that are Immuno-compromised and can have a bad outcome from the vaccinations!

They need to discuss their individual options with their GP or specialist. If they can't have a jab then I guess, the only safe option left is to isolate at home during local outbreaks using online delivery and/or remote support services to survive.

My 81 year old sister refuses to get it, she said she won't be a guinea pig to anyone.   I don't understand her logic as she has travelled overseas on a number of occasions and never complained about having various injections.

I understand her HOLA -- THOSE injections were TESTED and they knew about them -- THESE have NOT been tested and they know nothing about their effects or how they may affect people down the track.

I also have had all the other injections and had no effects but I am very wary of this one as we are all Guinea  pigs with this one

RnR I am Immuno-compromised  and I have been isolating for over 2 years now and I have been doing everything online--except for having my cataracts done 2 years ago.

I am not anti-vaccine and have always had the other vaccines,  I would gladly have this one IF I was sure about it.

Have we misunderstood the Doherty modelling?

Who would have thought pre-pandemic that the intricacies of mathematical modelling would become part of people's everyday conversation and widespread media coverage.

The nation is hanging its hat on the Doherty Institute's modelling and the Prime Minister keeps doubling down on us beginning to open up at 70% vaccine coverage of the adult population. But there's hot debate about whether the exponential growth and high numbers in NSW have stuffed it up for everyone and all bets and predictions are off.

Farside there are STILL so many mixed messages and the PM and Premiers do not give us ANY confidence at all as they do not understand anything about this virus and it shows.

Morrison needs to STOP preaching and STOP speaking to everyone like we are all kindergarten kids,  he NEVER answers questions and goes on & on to make up time, and often just walks off.

Morrison and cronies are cherry picking and misrepresenting the advice so they can open up sooner rather than later so he can get on with electioneering. They thrive on mixed messaging and creating FUD through omission and quoting out of context, not to mention blatant mistruths. There will be regrets this time next year.

'This virus is not a joke for young people': Schoolgirl, 17, urges other teenagers to get vaccinated after Covid put her in hospital just THREE DAYS after she had her first jab

Schoolgirl, 17, urges teenagers to get vaccinated

Maisy Evans (left and right in hospital), 17, from Newport, South Wales, was rushed to The Grange University Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 earlier this month. The schoolgirl, who was admitted to hospital just three days after receiving her first jab, was soon diagnosed with a Covid-related blood clot in her lung following numerous blood tests, X-rays and CT scans. She has now urged more young people to 'take this virus seriously' and get vaccinated.

I wish the politicians would get their act together, some 17  years olds seem to be taken as adults some as children!     The right hand is not knowing what their left hands are doing and it is a disgrace;  husband wrote to our local Federal Member and told him he will not be voting for him anymore!    Yes he did have a reply and husband replied back to him!    I think they had better get their responsibilities sorted out before the next federal election.

New Covid variant detected in South Africa has already been found in England as scientists warn it is the 'most mutated variant so far'

Thats ok for them to say that it is a small country, what about the large populations and large land masses?

It will be required to get everyone with at least two shots then the following year the next third shot I guess?  That is how the flu protection is working, so we get a new one each year.

The people that do not believe in having them jabs are the ones that put me and others at deaths door.

Israel says anyone with just two Covid jabs needs a THIRD shot to be properly protected against virus as it offers new injections to its entire population, including children as young as 12

'We have to complete third doses for all of our citizens. I call on those aged 12 and up to go out and immediately take the third shot. The third dose of the vaccine works' Prime Minister Bennet said
