I'm tired of spending Christmas alone and am thinking of a cruise around New Zealand this year. However with diminishing super returns find even the heavily discounted cabins this year prohibitive as a solo. I'm a young 67 yo woman. Well travelled. Used to travelling on own so not expecting to be in a companion's pocket all the time - just someone to share the cabin and dining opportunities, unless we both choose to spend more time together.

Princess Cruises has a 13 night Sydney to Sydney dep Dec 17 from about $2,600 pp incl govt charges taxes (Interior) or $3,350 pp ocean View. (Back before New Years Eve)

Holland America has similar cruise but 16 days (incl Eden, NSW) from $2,900 (interior) or $3,088 with obstructed ocean views. I did one of their cruises from Anchorage to Vancouver last year and found it excellent. (Back Jan 2)
