United Australia Party-Put them last on the Ballot Paper.

I am so sick of seeing Clive Palmer's ads on all the major sporting events on TV. How hyproctritical can anyone be?  If he had paid his workers what they were due, if he had operated a good business, that put Workers safety at the forefront, if his relative, nephew or whatever he is stayed and faced the music on the demise of Qld Nickel, and not left Townsville employees in dire straits. If he had not shortchanged the tenants of this Coolum resort, maybe he would have the right to put himself and his party up as a viable alternative political party. He falls short in every way.

Clive we are not going to "COP YOU!" Just go away will you?

Palmer is not to be trusted at all --

Palmer is all about Palmer and no one else.

Absolutely agree jackie and one would have to question the sanity of anyone who would vote for him to be honest. What he has done to his former workers is disgusting.

I thought Clive wanted to pay the workers but the liquidators refused to allow it?

Adrianus...Don't be so gullible.

some blonde thought vat 69 was the pope's phone number

If you want to get rid of the government and save the tax payer $2.70 per vote paid to orgaisation for each vote and get rid of the present parties then vote informal, no vote is no government, simples

And if you vote informal, you will have no right to complain about the quality of those representing the rest of us in Parliament.  If you really want to make a protest vote, vote 1 for an Indpendent as they only get that payment from the Electoral Commission if the receive over a certain percentage.

been doing that for decades but it doesnt send the message you want (which obviously is "none of you scumbags deserve my vote")

i remember bob hawke had an election and got a record number of informal votes. said he "couldnt understand why voters didnt understand the new voting forms, as his government had spent tens of millions on advertising how to fill them out .."

i remember that particular election, because some africdan students were giving out pamphlets at the local shopping centre urging people to vote informal, because none of the parties or independents were in favor of a huge increase in african immigrants into australia.

Chrissy, you do know that you don't have to watch the ads when they come on?  They may be targeted ads and not shown in all States or regions.  Either way, I haven't seen many for quite a while.

At this stage I'm not sure whether Mr Palmer is putting himself forward for the House of Representatives or the Senate.  If it's the HoR, it is only those in his electorate who will have a say in his destiny.  If he nominates for the Senate, only those in Queensland will determine where he parks his vintage Rolls Royce.

I have seen comments from "outraged" snowflakes who received SMS's on their mobile phones from the UAP as if this was a great imposition.  Probably have no problem with a text from their local "organic" food shop, but a single swipe to delete threatens their world?

I'm gonna vote palmer No.1 as he has no chance of getting in anyway , and it makes sure I can vote the rest lower down.

Pedro, if we take your advice poor old Clive could get about $2.80 per primary vote (subject to specific conditions) in addition to a $10000 contribution from the taxpayer. No thanks, I go along with Couldabeen and will vote 1 for an suitable independant then the party of my choice as 2.

each vote the prick gets, adds credibility to a total sack of shit

however i admit that there are many scumbags elected in the liberal and labor parties as well.

however i wouldnt encourage a piece of crap like palmer. i think its an insult to the intelligent section of the community that he thinks just because the main 2 partys consist of scumbags, that we should support him, even though he couldnt give a shit about anybody except himself.

best way to deal with a sack of shit like palmer is to totally ignore him. if you acknowledge his presence you dignify him and his views.

informal sounds like the way to go for me ......

Well, more fool you.

Voting for a buffoon, just for the heck of it, or to make a statement that carries little weight.

Clive Palmer cannot be trusted. He decimated the once thriving Coolum Hyatt resort and hundreds lost their jobs. The resort lost the PGA and the tourism dollars for the local community. As the member for Fairfax, he did absolutely nothing for his constituents. Not to mention the problem with his businesses. All hot air!

Clive Palmer is facing serious criminal charges against him in the Supreme Court in Brisbane, and the National Trust still believes that he is worthy of being a National Living Treasure? See https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-01-23/clive-palmer-loses-court-bid-to-have-asic-charges-dropped/10739118.

Surely Clive Palmer’s actions, particularly over the Queensland Nickel saga, has brought the whole notion of “Living Treasures” into disrepute.

Given that Clive Palmer is no longer an Australian taxpayer (https://www.msn.com/en-au/video/viral/clive-palmers-multimillion-dollar-secret/vi-BBTjPvI), I was wondering if the National Trust is going to transfer his membership of Australian National Living Treasures to the Cayman Island National Living Treasures.  I’m happy to nominate him for the new honour, as I’m sure would be many of the real Australian NLTs.

I would have thought that the National trust, if only to protect it’s own reputation, let alone those other, genuine Living Treasures, would have started the process of removal by now.

I am very disappointed that the National Trust is burying it’s head in the sand, and allowing this initiative to be devalued and debased by this clown.

When is the National Trust going to do something about this embarrassment to both the Trust, and to all the other genuine National Treasures?

does clive palmer really warrant serious discussion? only a complete moron would vote for the prick.

sure some of his views are good, such as stopping the selling off of australian owned infrastructure, but the ship has already sailed on that one. i have no doubt that if offered a sufficient bribe, as his predecessors did, he would support the giant australian garage sale

other than that he is all about self interest, and like most politiicians, shouldnt be allowed to have access to oxygen. (shit i hate oxygen thieves!)

Well if one votes for Clive then one doesnt have to vote liberal or labour so why not they wont get any where so it becomes a protest vote so why not

Clive has a raft of ideas which make sense, unfortunately, Clive does not.

just remember that if you vote Clive because you think he can't get in...he just might!!( unthinkable surely)  and if he doesn't under the preferential system of voting your vote then goes to no2 on your list - of if you vote only for Clive then to his no 2.  If you don't vote or vote informally, you get what you deserve!..and one more  - too many independents leads to a government who can do nothing without the support of an independent pushing their own little idea  ( witness the Julia Gillard government).  Having said that, who the hell does one vote for!

You should carefully listen to his ads. A lot more about relevant issues for Australians (e.g. Chinese taking over many assets in Australia) than the comments from the buffoons leading the Liberal, Labor anf Greens parties who don't work for Australians anyway. These parties are well overdue for receiving a massive slap from the electors, and it is time to vote for anyone else - except some extremist types of course. He is of course unlikely to win, but support for him can send a message to the disgusting, self-entitled, self-serving, leeches called politicians we currently have from the above 3 Major parties. Also depends on what other choices you have in your own electorates of course e.g. if a Retiree supporting party is there, they could be the preferred choice.

Companies collapsing and letting the Govt pay workers whatever they can is normal behaviour by businesses (large & small) in this country - a system designed by these same Major parties, so Palmer is by no means unique - just using the system as many do such as avoiding paying taxes, etc.

Wasn’t Clive Palmer declared bankrupt in 2016? Doesn’t bankruptcy rule one out in running for parliament? How can he afford the millions of dollars for ads when he couldn’t afford to pay the nickel workers?

He claims he can afford to pay but doesn't actually owe them anything because he was not running the company.  He also claims he offered to pay, even though he is not legally required to, (according to him), but the liquidators refused.

The liquidators say his claims are misleading.  The whole thing is very murky and still under investigation, as far as I know.
