Tremor

This morning at 3.25am we had a 3.5 tremor--nothing has been on the news as yet--really was a smaller version of the last one we had here

I know you are a very early waker Jane :) were you awake or the tremor

strong enough to wake you? With your Latex Mattress you should

sleep late but who am I to say as our Latex Mattress Topper was

a really good buy and we sleep better but still awake early.

For not too much cost (around $350) it is great as we were quoted $4,000

for the full mattress.

We do not live far from Korrumburra where there were strong tremors last

year.

All the best

Phyl.

Hi Phyl yes I was awake but I was still in bed as I have had a dreadful head cold and spent most of yesterday in bed and went to bed early again last night--and yes it was very strong a very loud rumble and then the house shook--it has been on the news and they say it was about 3.6 but the Geo says 3.4 --it was off Seal Rocks--which I can see from my window--

I am not up on Seal Rocks but sounds wonderful. Can you actually

see Seals? If you can, lucky you.

That is a fair movement over 3. for the tremor.

The damage bill for Melbourne with the hail last week is into many many

millions of dollars and where we are Latrobe Valley a lot of damage.

We got off almost unscathed. The hail stones were huge.

I haven't seen any seals there Phyl but is is a lovely area--I have a friend that was in Vic with all that dreadful weather the other day and yes I also saw it on the news--must have been dreadful--poor souls that had great damage--:(

Hi PlanB, hope your cold gets better soon. Were you living up there when the Newcastle earthquake hit years ago? We were in the coffee shop at Blacktown shopping centre in Sydney and all the crockery fell off the shelves onto the floor. Hubby said not to rush to the escalators so we let everyone go, it was really scary.

Hi Toot--yes I was living here when the Newcastle earthquake happened--it was the year my Husband died--we had a very strong shock here it was amazing to see the walls and the floor ripple--but we never had anything fall or such

Glad you're ok after the quake, Planb.

During the extreme storm here in Melbourne on Saturday, my house took a direct lightning strike, and I thought my house was exploding. But, no damage thank goodness, but rather scary.

OMG koko--that would have been very bad--I saw 3 homes get stuck about 15 years ago--and it sure did a lot of damage--it travelled through tree roots and blew the tree to bits as well--and did a lot of damage to the homes. You are very lucky to not have any damage.
