Traveling on public transport in Adelaide

There are two issues that I cannot understand in regards to the public transport is that if you catch a train to Adelaide, you just have to show your seniors card when the inspector come aboard, However if you catch a bus, you have to show your seniors card, they give you a ticket, and then you punch the ticket machine before taking you seat. Isn't this a waste of taxpayers money.

Thje other issue is that four out of five buses have the sign, "Not in Service," as they whizz past the bus stop. why can't they stop and pick up the people, as the people would be going to the same destination

Malle buses not in service may be going back to depot or going for lunch break or changing routes or out on training run with new drivers

Thanks Jesse for your reply. The area I am referring ti is along Dyson Road On the way to the Noarlunga bus interchange. Our regular service is every half hour, so it wouldn't be any poroblem to pick some people as they would be going to catch the train, or going to Colonnaides

Mallee I live not far from Dyson rd I have seen these buses think they are going back to the depot, some return for repairs and go straight thru .

Malle if you are 40 or over you may like to join Beachside Travellers we met at Witton Masonic Hall Dyson RD Noarlunga Downs at 9-30 am 1st Tuesday each month . WE go on reasonable priced coach day trips ,may be I will see you there
