Been there, done that, best exchange rate I have found over the years is with Travelex.

If you front up to their desk at short notice, you get a discount on their fee with your senior card. Hmm, nice to know.

Better still, buy online... No fees., They charge if you use a credit or debit card..... so pay by using BPAY.

What happens is..........

Pay online with your credit card and your foreign notes turn up in a few days at your designated place, but there is a surcharge on the transaction

Pay online with BPAY and wait about 7 days for your cash, but there is no surcharge .....
