the John Denver Story - take me home country roads

Hi to all you eastern staters, if you hear of a show called The John Denver Story -Take Me Home Country Roads- go to it.

I won tickets to the Australian premier in Perth through here and when I went (took a girlfriend as my other half has been with the angels now for over 6 years) I was hoping it would be good as I like the songs he used to sing.

It exceeded all my expectations, Rick Price is a fantastic story teller and singer and the band -Colorado Quartet plays just fantastically.

We ended up with sore hands from applauding and clapping along in some of the songs and at the end of the 2 hour show the artists got a standing ovation.

It was so interesting to hear how Rick himself got started, to hear how John Denver got started and the story of his life interspaced in between the songs was amazing to hear, we heard facts we never knew about.

If I could I would see it again and again however I can not , so as I have suggested -go to it, if you love country music of any sort you will love this show.

Hi toot. I was always a great fan of John Denver. Do you know if this show

is coming to the Eastern States?

Hi Innes Yes the show is definately touring the eastern states. On the program is a computer address www.thejohndenverstory.com.au now if that does not give enough information as to shows then you could contact the company called Bold Jack Pty Ltd who are presenting this show and ask for the marketing dept.

It is not your ordinary just songs show as I mentioned he does talk about John Denvers life but I can not reiterate it enough without it sounding false but I would go again and again to see it.

If you do get to see the show I hope you will not be disappointed as peoples interpretation of events is always different.

The only thing I can add is that on the Thursday night I went there were over two hundred at the show which was in the Regal Theatre Perth and this is not a big theatre so it was about three quarters full. Now for a Thursday night that was fantastic and as far as I know they have had a pretty full house each night it has been on here in Perth.

Hope you can , gotta go now and get up to my seniors club to help them set up for a social they are having tonight, I will not be there as I am going to a quiz night but still like to give them a hand.

Have a good weekend.

He was a fabulous entertainer...I have most of his music and, although there is some repetitiveness...it is very enjoyable and , I too, will make an effort to locate and view the performance.
